I understand that during this conflict there was a brigade of Scotish and a brigade of Swiss mercenaries in Dutch service. Does anyone have any information about these two brigades? What was their reputation/performance? I am trying to put together an army list and any information about the Dutch during this period would be appreciated. I am particularily interested in unit sizes and reputations.

There were 5-6 regiments of each nationality often brigaded with other units. The Scots were single battalion regiments while most of the Swiss had two battalions. See Sapherson's books on the Dutch army for names and uniforms, as known. They were considered very reliable troops. C.S. Grant's "From Pike to Shot…" also has information.
