How do GM and Redoubt figures compare in size? I'm not a purest but are they close in bulk and height? They are close, IMHO, and I am a bit picky (especially with European troops) about that sort of thing. And, Blue Moon 28mm FIW fit in well with both. GM are very slightly more "buffed" but not "heroic" in stature. The thing that really works, especially for the Redoubt and BM is that the weapons (other equipment) look the same size. Really nice muskets, look like long rifles, not fence posts. The GM I have, the musket are only slightly shorter, but still relatively scale to the figures. I have a handful of all three ranges (bare metal) on my painting table and they look fine. I just received today an order, from Keith at Loyalhanna Outpost, comprising 15 GM rangers. I will be opening it later and post a review here tomorrow
Cheers, Cheriton

There are Redoubts that don't fit in with each other. A few are really, really big. The Rangers are an especially large sculpt. But, both lines are top shelf. The Redoubt line has a tremendous choice of poses and forces. Wonderful figures, full of character. The "line" figures are a strength, here. Canadian Militia are very strong. Galloping Major also make spectacular figures. And Lance is a nice guy to deal with. His site is loaded with tips and painting advice. I love his figures. I think that his Indians are they best ever done. His Rangers are up there, too. You have to have all of his figures. I must try Blue Moon. I do not game, so I am always looking at the quality of the sculpt and the usefullness of the pose. In short, you cannot go wrong with Redoubt and Galloping Major. It's a great time to build a F&I War army. |

Very helpful as I just picked up the new Muskets and Tomahawks rules. |

The Rangers are an especially large sculpts. Yes good point. I was thinking more in my thread about the native American figures. I did examine my packet of GM rangers I received yesterday from Keith (GM USA) and they are very nice and much more, anatomically, in line with what I want. I will attempt to put up a brief review here later this morning. Cheers,

I got some GM Rangers from Keith recently and can agree with Cheriton that they are very nice indeed (and the service was top notch as well) – I haven't painted them yet but they appear to fit in well with the Conquest stuff that I already had and are not miles away from the Perry Indians I plan to use. Some of the Redoubt sculpts are very big indeed but their civilians particularly are a must. I just ordered some regulars, both British and French from Crusader as I was a bit disappointed by the Conquest ones, but they have not yet arrived for comparison. I intend using La Longue Carabine from Too Fat Lardies for rules. |

have to say that the faces esp on the Brits and Settlers on the Redoubt figures are probably the best I have seen and a simple brown wash is almost all you need over flesh to bring out the details (speaking as someone who can't do faces!) Also bar a few mould line issues on occasion the muskets are the nicest I've seen |

Anyone have a view on Galloping Major compared with Front Rank. Much bigger? The Colonel |

I too would like to thank you for your kind comments and business. The figures are going well and I have had to put in an order for more to restock. Once again, thank you for your orders. |
