Another question for y'all.

I've just bought battlefront ww2 with the late late war supplement for my Brits but until it arrives I have little idea of average sized forces.
My current models are all for FoW and I can manage about 1200 – 1300 points for my FJ and Brits.

Sooo, what kind of numbers in terms of bases and armour are the "average" (there are 2 of us playing) games of Battlefront? Am I gonna have enough to work with already (around 18 bases of infantry each side plus all sorts of HMG's etc) or will I have to increase my miniature armoury?

Cheers

Each infantry base is a squad and each vehicle is a vehicle or two. So using your numbers above you have a short battalion with two companies plus supporting assets. That's enough for a smallish but decent game. Toss in another couple of Battlefront platoons and you're golden.

Oh, don't forget the example scenarios on page 77. They show some example order of battles for some decent sized games. The nice thing in WWII Battlefront is that seven or so vehicle models covers a whole company so you only need about 1/2 to 2/3ds the number of models that you need in FoW and divisional level artillery units on the board really aren't out of line.

Sweet. Are the lists composed of several troop types, eg some FJ and some panzergrenadiers maybe a gebirgsjager unit or two? Or are they more uniform like 2/3's FJ and maybe a platoon of gebirgsjager as attachment.
I only ask because I've got some panzergrenadiers that I've been meaning to paint up for a while now but I want a proper FJ company as my starting point.

Also how many tanks do you reckon one would need for a reasonable sized force, seeing as I've been playing Cassino for FoW I'm woefully short on armour.

(btw I dont have the book yet I only ordered it today hence my severe lack of knowledgo on it)

Greetings

Look at link for lots of BF WW2 orders of battle and tables of organisation (including those from the basic rulebook and the 21st Army Group).

Definitely check out the link above for the Fire and Fury website. Lots of great info and scenarios.

Yeah I'm liking the look of the game. Was finding our FoW games are getting a bit repetative in terms of the Brits for Cassino cant seem to beat the FJ.

Book arrived today so I'll be givin this a test run.
