Wooden Wars
I've posted another dev diary of my Wooden Wars models to my blog. This time I focus on commander and officer wooden soldiers and rules design. Drop on by and take a look, as questions, give feedback and any fashion tips on how to dress more like Murat! skullandcrown.blogspot.com Cheers! Thomas Foss |

Any idea what the figure cost is going to be for this range? |

79th- I am currently working out production and cost. My goal is to keep the price for a foot figure to $4 USD-7 and $9 USD-12 for horse and arty, with deals of course for battalions/ armies. I'm going up to my current producer's shop in Montreal the first of August to make up some stock for sale at Gencon, and will have the prices figured out by then. Stay tuned! Cheers Thomas Foss |

Will they be sold ready to play with? |
Skull and Crown | 24 Jun 2012 5:30 p.m. PST |
nnascati- not sure I understand your question. They are a simple model kit that needs assembly (wood glue) and paint if you wish, but they are playable from that point on for sure! Assembly takes 1-3 minutes, depending on how long it takes your glue to set. My next blog update will be on assembly and ways to paint the models. When I have the models ready for sale I'll also have the rules. hope that helps. Thanks Ths |

I see a market here for transfers,
:o) There is a very OLD SCHOOL / Toy soldier look about them. Good luck |

So $4 USD for a wooden unpainted infantry man in kitform yes? Well, good luck. |

Looking at your blog and the examples of templates (if that's the right word) for the troops, it oocurs to me that you could offer a cheaper alternative printed on stout card – or even b/w sheets which purchasers could glue onto card before cutting out with a scalpel. This would make your charming figures more economical and more of a realistic proposition for someone interested in using them with children. Otherwise, a box of Perry plastic Russian infantry, for example, works out about £0.50 GBP each, whilst soft plastics by HaT et al would be even cheaper. |

Ahoy Arthur, and thanks for the input. I have tried prototypes of card stock models(see my blog)as well as trying versions made by Wakerloo. They do not hold up to play for more than a day or two. My models go through rigourous testing on the Fossling proving grounds and hold up really well. The scale of the models is 80- 90 cm for infantry and 120ish CM for cavalry. Nice good visual sizes and fun projects to paint up. Plastics usually run 20-54mm. I am making models that I hope my kids will give to their kids. Something that is playable, that kids can make their own by assembling and painting, and cherishable. Call me a Romantic! Cheers Thomas Foss |
