what is the most popular wargaming mag in US? |

It would have to be Wargames Illustrated now that it is owned by Battlefront. White Dwarf sort of qualifies but you won't be able to advertise there

Do you mean sold in the US or published in the US? I'm not sure if I can think of wargaming magazine published in the US any more. Assuming you're interested in advertising, I'd agree that it's Wargames Illustrated. Wargames Soldiers & Strategy probably has a wider distribution since it's now in Barnes & Noble (a large US book store chain). But I'd think at least some of purchasers of the magazine at B&N wouldn't be wargamers, so probably not your target audience. Personally my favorite is Battlegames though. |

I disagree that WI is the most popular. Maybe with the Flames of War crowd. But the magazine is very limited in other articles. Miniature Wargames, Battlegames, and Dadi & Piombo are all aboout the same in quality and size. Battlegames started out better but quickly de-volved into just another typical glossy. D&P has editing and translation problems. MW is slowly getting a little better now that it is under new ownership. WS&S is MY favorite as it seems to have a better selection of topics, in greater depth, in each issue than the others. I have subscriptions to all of them. I owe allegience to none of them. |

I don't have any idea what sales numbers are, or how the numbers break down for the individual mags in terms of readers' interests. I have never seen a Battlegames mag. I have seen a Dadi and Piommbo at a show and it looked failry well produced. I haven't seen a MW in awhile, but I always considered them to be a lesser quality mag. The close ups of poorly painted and chipped miniatures in feature articles always put me off. I stopped buying MI after it became a Battlefront propaganda piece. I don't play FOW, so, for the money, there is simply not enough there to keep my interest. I started buying WS&S about three issues ago. From what I have seen and for what I am looking for, it is the best and most balanced wargaming magazine out there. |

This is based on what are in hobby stores folks, you may not like Flames of War but it is popular with many others. The magazine has other articles on non-FoW as well. Miniature Wargames is in more limited distribution here in the U.S. Pricing is a factor with both magazines but FoW is very popular. Just go to a game and hobby shop and see what it played. Otherwise, I would go to each publisher and ask specifically how many issues they sell each month. They should have this information handy. I have worked with a lot of publishers and they all have the data. Let the real subscriptions and counter sales decide

Technically there are no US wargaming magazines. We rely on those produced in Europe, primarily the UK. |

It was nice when we had MWAN and the Courier published here |

Ah, but the question was the most popular in the U.S., not the most popular published in the U.S. |
