It wouldn't take me much time to port MDRG into TBH. That would be a stand alone volume. I could put together a rough playtest document in a couple of days as a break from SSS. would anyone be interested or is fantasy the only genre you would roleplay? I would like to keep the same quirky randomness of MDRG, the idea is to roll up a character in 5 minutes because life in the post apoc world is cheap
so the point system would not be used, or would be optional, you would just roll up characters after choosing a template (mutant, plant, robot etc) using more or less the same tables as in MDRG the miniatures game. It should make the integration between the rpg and the mini game smoother. |

Darthfozzywig, sorry for the acronym feast. I was asking if any would be interested in a roleplaying version of my Mutants and Death Ray Guns science fantasy miniatures rules: link using the same engine as my fantasy rpg Tales of Blades and Heroes link |

Ahh, now I know. And I knowing is half the battle. The other half, of course, is fightin' and killin'. |

Today we played our first test game of Hyperevolved, the MDRG RPG. So far so good. It's gonna be a bit different from other games out there. Character creation took 5-6 minutes per player, and most had never seen a RPG before. Next game next Saturday. Characters literally become stronger/tougher when they survive a crisis. System is so simple that experienced players may want to run 2-3 characters each as a small team, using one of the characters as their favorite and the others as helpers. |

The fungoid biker on an electrical-drive Harley did not play yesterday in Hyperevolved, but we had an ambidextrous giant talking spider gunslinger and a post-apoc Captain America added to the group. Much carnage ensued. Two PCs and countless NPCs dead. Lots of nazi robots were hammered to death with clubs. I'm not 100% happy with the damage system so I'll be streamlining it. |

Watching this for with interest. I've alway liked the light variable character nature of the game, but it's almost impossible to take advantage of the fun character creation system AND find figures to represent them. The preceding post show why it'll be so much fun as an RPG! |

arabianknight, there is a point system builder for MDRG now so you can detail your own specific models (just use some common sense and do not give them better C and Q scores than the random generation would produce). link For the RPG we did manage to find appropriate miniatures so far (the fungoid biker is a remodeled Gormiti, but unfortunately he has no bike). |

Incidentally, this is designed to work well with smaller groups (3-4 players) with each player running more than one character. You can have a boss/leader with goons, a vigilante with a sidekick, a slaver with a few slaves, or even a parent with d3 children. Having "more mouths to feed than food" is a central theme in the game. If you have more players, you can just play with one PC each. |
