This is a classic, The Battle of Dorking.

Back in the late 70's or early 80's, Phil Barker designed a board game with the Prussians fighting the British over some lovely English countryside.

The formations were blocks produced by Minifigs at the time.

Personally, I prefer the War of 1897.
