Merci beaucoup, Armand. This is a terrific collection of sketch art. Formidable!

At first glance, one might regard sketches of Civil War battles and uniforms as being the most accurate source of information.

But were these sketch artists actually eyewitnesses, or did they arrive days after the battle and sketch a scene based on what they imagined might have occurred? I'm sure they could consult some eyewitnesses they encountered, but in the end, we might want to question just how accurate these sketches of battle scenes might be.
