I've been involved in a Fantasy game world and it's development as a base for a wargame in 6mm for over a decade now. I began 'modding' Medieval Total War II a few of years ago, and the team I worked with decided to help me take this world and make a 'Mod' of the game setting. We started about a year ago.

If you don't know, a true 'Mod' is a complete modification of an existing computer game, turning it into a game about what you wish it to be about – so a Tolkien based game, or any setting. We chose to do one in a world called 'Dragonborn' (yes, it's been used a lot recently, but it's over twelve years old now; not that that makes it unique, but the name does kind of fit so much we can't really get away from it).

Now, an existing miniatures business has offered to licence the use of the setting for a 6mm fantasy wargame, which is what it was written for in the first place, all that time ago. The world is hugely developed now, and it's kind of begging for something to be done, but I was wondering if you'd take a look, and give me a viewpoint of what you think about the possibility of playing a tabletop game in this world? The Mod is FAR from finished (in terms of execution – the idea and basis is finished, the actual leg work of programming etc isn't) , but I'd be very interested to see what your viewpoint on all this is. Is the world good enough, are the units interesting, would you actually like to see something come of it?

This is something I'd like to hear from you; it's not advertising or anything like that, but a simple need to hear opinions of people who love wargaming – I have the opinions of people who play computer games already, but this interests me hugely. I hope I don't offend anyone by asking for this; I'm not the most confident person in the world, but I'm also not asking for everyone to say that it's lovely. There is also one hell of a lot of stuff there to trawl through, BUT there are two playable battles, and a third is imminent. I'd be interested in what you make of them and their suitability for wargaming…of anything really.

The Mod is held here. Even if you don't play the computer game, you can have a peek at the pics and read the scrawls.

Thank you :) I'll tell Bandit you liked it!

That's a magical artillery battery. A few of the factions have them – types of them. In a 6mm scale, they're about 15mm high. Some of the big beasties are 30m in scale though. Some few bigger.

We managed to get magical artillery to fire glowing missiles that explode; different factions have different colours and do different things, of course.

Might be worth looking at these, for a tiny look at some bits:
