I just did a painting job for a client. I packed all of the minis tightly in tissue paper and put them in a hard walled card box for shipping. He just got the box and it seemed customs went through the sperate wrapped boxes to check contents then tossed everything back in the box. |

Pffff. German customs are amateurs compared to Canadian customs! Canadian customs will even charge you for their time checking the content of your package! Plus of course all pertaining taxes

Ha, a first glance I thought, "What, you hate Octoberfest and liederhosen?" |

Draw a number and get in line! I could live with paying duty and tax, but the three to four delay and 3 hour drive to get my stuff are a pain in the behind! @great hall games: What the is a Liederhosen? |

Well, if any were damaged, due to their carelessness, perhaps you could sue them. |

I have nothing against copious consumption of heady brew during the month of October or other times. |

When shipping something to Germany I write a clear note to the German Customs officials on the outside of a box. I put the contents, what's if for and if the receiver of the package can make money or sell the items. After I started writing these notes I haven't had any complaints about my package being delayed or opened/damaged. |

Hmmm, interesting outfits, and concept on socks. Here in the USA, if people are going to wear short socks, they generally go in the shoes. What are the "calf socks" for? |

Australian customs still have the prize IMHO. An acquaintance had a custom made Olympic grade dressage saddle sent to Australia from Germany. Australian customs then slashed every leather panel, pulled all the stuffing out and shredded it, then put it back in the box & claimed that it wasn't their problem to fix it. Luckily the person concerned had plenty of money & lawyers, so Customs got to pay for a new saddle to be made & shipped out, but only after being hauled through the courts. The second saddle made it OK. |

Damn and I thought it was going to be a post about there invading Poland and Belgium and France at intervals. |

I assume liederhosen would be something like "songs trousers"? Perhaps a musical version of Blackadder's "Best Fighting Trousers"! Mollinary |

But generally in the UK with things like statues etc people were not crass enough to drill right through the forehead etc, but instead up through the base etc |
