Would you be willing to game some form of the Battle of Armageddon, as in the ultimate battle between good and evil? How would you do it? What units would you include? |

The battle scenes from the old movie "Wizards" comes to mind. |

Armegeddon? Isn't that also known as Megiddo? Any Ancients rules that handle chariots well should do it

Plenty of possibilities Ancients - Egyptians v Caananites around 1400s BC - Egyptians v Judeans 609 BC WWI - British v Turks 1918 Oh, another sort of Armageddon: - Global Thermonuclear War circa 1985 (perhaps the card game?) - Revelations-style- Probably best to gather up every single miniature you own and have a massive good v evil bash, possibly with red strobe lights and thrash metal at volume 11, just to set the scene. Reminds me of an Alt Hist/fantasy/SciFi story I read online. The setup is that the time for Armageddon has come and Satan's foul minions invade Earth millions strong through some swirly portal thing. The demons are 12 foot tall horned and hoofed monsters carrying tridents that zap mere mortals with fatal lighting bolts. Now this would of course be a guaranteed 1-0 victory for the forces of bad throughout 99% of history, but their portal opens up in Iraq in the 90s or 2000s and they run into a modern US Armoured Corps with international support. Hilarity ensues naturally and later in the story Hell gets invaded. Mad story but great fun! |

Hardly likely to be bothered to game this any more than other fictional scenario based on fantasy
so I don't do Lord of the Rings games or anything else involving fantastic elements. On the other hand I do sometimes play Uncharted seas so maybe that is a load of codswallop. |

How would I battle The Armageddon? In miniature? Well I'd start with all of my models painted. Because when I complete my unpainted pile, the world will be at an end. |

I do this every year at the Thanksgiving dinner table with the in-laws and DNA relatives. But for a tabletop battle, there are a number of fantasy games that have this type of battle. For my own personal Armageddon, I would want 19th Cent level technology in a series of progressive skirmishes. |

Just wait
you might get to experience it in 1 to 1 scale. |

I've done the fictional end of time battle from 40K where the Eldar all come together to fight the Chaos gods or whatever it is before. I had about 5 Keepers of Secrets on the table along with a horde of other Slaaneshi daemons, Noise Marines, the Avatar of Khaine, all of the Phoenix Lords and a whole pile of other Eldar. It was a pretty neat fight. I thought about doing something similar with Old Glory's angels and demons line. That would be fun. |

WWI? Yes End of the world? Nope. Not going there. |

Nah. Forces too one-sided. "Destiny" rule makes for bad gaming. -Kle. |

Nah. Forces too one-sided. "Destiny" rule makes for bad gaming. Seconded. At least a good Hoth scenario is about the Rebels escaping the base, not defeating the AT-ATs. The Book of Revelations isn't describing a fair fight. |

Yes I would game Armageddon. You only have to look as far as the War of the Ring. That's what Tolkien thought Armageddon would look like. |

I have always wanted to game some of the battles from Lords of the Starship or from the other Mark S. Geston books. Since they were always a series of Armageddons, I think they would qualify for this thread. |

I wonder if someone in the Isreali Air Force is right now chalking, "Foot of Gork" on the side of a can of sunshine? |
