Is there a review of these rules anywhere? I was considering picking them up but all I know about them is that they cover company level engagements. |

They are a good set of rules which have some similarities to FOW but have improved on their mechanisms. |

Are they strictly for CM minis, or can you use any minis / design your own units? |

I have too copies one is the original release before they did it officialy signed by authors/designers , the ithe ris the current release They are designed for there minis, but im sure there is no problem replacing them with other minis as stand ins, no design rules though They reminded me a little of the original spacemarine (epic rules in some aspects) They are good Al |

Thanks, Aliosborne. I'd love to read more about them, but there don't seem to be too many details floating around. I'm hearing FOW-ish and Space Marine-ish, both of which are pretty good for that scale, but it would be nice to know more. No design rules is a bummer. How difficult does it appear to make custom armies? Are there lots of different types of weapons/etc effects? How "sci-fi" does it feel? |

Has anyone else got more to add about these rules? Feedback or a rules review would be great! I have ordered the Gruntz rules set but am keen to play Company sized games.
There are so many great manufacturers out there. All my GW figures are going to be offloaded soon :) |

I had a chance to play a demo game at Crisi a few years back. It seemed like a solid ruleset. As has been said above it is very similar to FOW but more streamlined with players alternating activation by units. I had a blast playing it, even bought a copy of the rules but couldn't find any players locally. It used to be for their own figures only but they have since released a troop builder as a free download on their website. I've downloaded them but havn't read them yet. Here's a link to the troop builder link |

Thanks Stroezie. Very much appreciated. I just bought the Gruntz rules online PDF while I wait for the hard copy rulebook. Critical Mass Games miniatures and the little I could make out from the free downloads looked ok to me :) |

Hmm, pretty cool design rules. Are the critical mass rules available as PDF? |

Like others have said, the rules are very similar to Flames of War – our group likes them a lot! There is a set of build rules in Beta – they can be found at link
I've used those to make a VTOL that seems to work pretty well. |

Thanks mate. I read them over and they look great. there was even a mention of play testing some new Beta rules for Critical mass and new units being released at Salute 2014 which is good news :) |
