Sometimes I wonder why I bother with TMP as a news source anymore. Only news from sponsors, and much of that seems to be flat paper figures. |

Hush, or we will be forced to suggest a poll to ban you. |

Not much in the way of news, I can make a 2d version if that helps?

I could make up some news if you like. I'm putting loads of pictures of the old Garrison 20mm figures on my gallery at the moment, that's about all really. |

We can all make news, but can you get it up on the frontpage of TMP? Oh, Angel, could you make them, you know, like fold-ups? But badly rendered 3d CGI would be better! :-/ |

I must agree . TMP is losing ground as a source for miniature news . Drop ship commander( as a example) has been putting out previews of models for at least two months They appear regularly on other sites but not here . what about kromlech ? Scibor ? max Mini ? Secert Weapon ? they all have had releases but no mention here . Why? Do they not submit news here , Does the Editor not search for news ? Do you have to be an Advertiser to get news posted here? What is the deal? |
| Henrix | 10 Jun 2012 10:56 a.m. PST |
You cannot now submit news unless you're an advertiser, ming. So an awful lot of news are never seen here, but from some companies we get an awful lot, seemingly without much discrimination. |

The only point of this non-gaming/miniatures BS appears to braising the number of "hits" to the site. News does not seem to mean as much as getting into these childish fights over childish topics. Now, maybe we should go back to talking about our toys

Guys, which site do you suggest as a better source for news? Hoser |

Thats sucks if only paid advertisers can post news. No wonder the news has dropped and people are creating posts with their new product releases in them Cheers Kieran |

For wargaming news, less drama, and web design that isn't marooned in 1996: tabletopgamingnews.com
TGN only publishes news from manufacturers though, it does not post news from 3rd party stockists like TMP does. That cuts out a lot of companies from their newsround. Thats sucks if only paid advertisers can post news True Kieran, but being a paid advertiser is really very good value given what TMP charge. (not much at all) |
| Henrix | 11 Jun 2012 1:52 a.m. PST |
But that means it isn't a news site, but an advertising site. |
| kmahony111 | 11 Jun 2012 7:21 p.m. PST |
I'm sure TMP is a good place to advertise for the wargaming community. However if it ceases to become a useful news site and more like PMT rather TMP, then the visitor numbers will drop. I use it for searching the archives but keeping track of current threads is tiresome with all the squabbling, agnedas and so forth. Cheers Kieran |

Sometimes I wonder why I bother with TMP as a news source anymore. Only news from sponsors, and much of that seems to be flat paper figures. Correction: All manufacturers are welcome to post announcements of new products on the TMP forums. The Hobby News section, however, is open only to our advertisers. I had to make this change since I simply could not process all the news otherwise; the policy will change when business allows another staff members to come onboard. Drop ship commander( as a example) has been putting out previews of models for at least two months They appear regularly on other sites but not here . I had some difficulty finding contact information for Hawk Wargames, but have (as of the last few days) invited them to post news to our forum. what about kromlech ? Scibor ? max Mini ? Secert Weapon ? they all have had releases but no mention here . Why? I believe I have contacted all of them. They choose not to submit their news here at this time. |

The only point of this non-gaming/miniatures BS appears to braising the number of "hits" to the site. Since I don't make money based on hits, that seems unlikely. |

All manufacturers are welcome to post announcements of new products on the TMP forums. The Hobby News section, however, is open only to our advertisers. The problem I see here is the very different display and search mechanisms available to the two areas. I'm not so sure the paying advertisers have the advantage, even with pictures. |

Angel Barracks, My buddy Paul and I have an on going debate about sandbags. As a former enlisted man who had to fill them, he says they made them small. I tell him his sandbags look like brown paper lunch bags. |

That is only because the Hobby News upgrade is still in process. Note that the Hobby News headlines also go out by RSS; forum announcements do not. |

TMP has the huge advantage of not being picked up by our company software as "games" related and therefore it isn't blocked. Perhaps potential advertisers could be informed of this? |
The Editor | 21 Jun 2012 9:15 a.m. PST |
Unfortunately, some software does block TMP at work

Good to know, though I find RSS more annoying than useful. |
