Got both books 2 days ago. Wow. There is some proofreading errors but nothing major. This is how scenario/OOB books should be done. It breaks down the war by year giving a overview of everything that went down. Then Goes over each army. Detailing organizations and where units start the year with the strength. Then it goes into the battles for the year. When a fortification is involved it usually gives what guns it had. Also when Naval forces where involved it does the same. The only problem I have with it is it does not tell you the number and poundage of the artillery at a present battle or the guns in the army train at the beginning of the year with one or two exceptions. These books are going to be a great help in my AWI gaming. 8 out of 10 |

I got mine from Old Glory 25s. With the Army discount they are a steal. |

I have run across a few during flea markets and always pick them up for my store. The Southern one is harder to find than the Northern War book. |

Old Glory in Calmet, Pa. has them. At least they had a large stack of them about six months ago. If you are an Old Glory Army member, you get a 40% discount on them. TomS. |

These are definitely worth buying. I got mine from Old Glory. Just remember, the reason some things may seem incomplete, is because of lack of information available. When you are doing research, sometimes you hit a brick wall. |

Can anyone tell me if there are maps of each battle? In particular, I'm looking for unit dispositions in each of the battles. Cheers. U.K. |

Not in Greg's great books. The kind of maps you want are in the British Grenadier scenario books. There are three. If I post anything more of BG I am going to start asking for commissions. :-) |

Are the reprints updated in a more modern font? The originals were done on a typewriter (remember those?) so the print quality is not up to today's standards. |

I agree, the print quality is not the best, but I am not aware of any updates, though the third in the series is the best for publishing quality. Perhaps it was a progressive production experience. :-) |
