This is the Golden Age of plastics!

It certainly is that, beautiful figure (no gorilla hands).

Ducking for cover before the barrage from the "Metal Brigade" comes in, want to join me in my foxhole?

Thanks for this and the comparison shots. They look nice and large so should go with my Gorgon Spartans…

Thanks for posting – to my surprise I find myself thinking about these – I have a couple of Immortal boxes and think they're jolly nice figures, but I may just be swayed on this one – the Victrix models really do look good.

I couldn't help myself, I'm in for a box despite having a couple boxes of Immortal Hoplites. I figure that at the worst case they can serve in seperate units…

Hmmm…. add to my OG Hoplite army?

Very nice work!!

Nice. I have a box of the Immortal hoplites, but they seem so small compared to everything else I have. I think they will go to the garage sale and I need some of these.

You can use the Immortal shields as markers. You might have to do some filling of the sink holes in the middle due to the way their sprues were designed…Just glue them arm side down…they can casualty markers or whatever else shows some kind of temporary effect. There are other useful bits on the sprues that can be used… sadly I was not impressed with the Immortal range… I liked their packaging… that's a positive comment. I just want some time to paint some of these new Victrix ones.. nice job. Metal movement trays do seem to make plastic figures seem sturdy enough… but lightweight is better for travel games. Id rather carry a toolbox of plastic figures down the long hotel lobby of Lancaster.

Very nice. How do you achieve your flesh tones ?

I favour subtle highlighting/blending for the skin. Using Vallejo paints I based this Charred Brown which provides a good foundation for the skin colour. First skin coat was Tan followed by a wash of Umber mixed with Skin Wash.

When dry, Tan was used again leaving the deeper recesses alone. I then used a mix of Tan and Medium Fleshtone for the first highlight; this "highlight" follows the muscle definition. Adding white to this colour gave me a further highlight on raised areas. That's the most of it. I did add another lighter highlight or two for raised areas such as the nose, knuckles, etc. These last ones are kept very subtle with the addition of a bit more water and care.
