1) Buckets of dice, yeah baby! 2) I hate loads of dice everywhere, just roll one or two off in the corner over there. 3)Give me a variety, all shapes and sizes! 4)I don't need that stuff, I prefer non dice mechanics. 5)Get off my lawn! Take your stupid dice with ya! 6) As long as I enjoy the game I don't care how many or what kind of dice we roll. 7)I need something to throw to work off my aggression. 8)Zardoz doesn't use dice, why should I? 9)Boobies! 10)Beer, as long as I'm liquored up who cares? |

11 – yes I like rolling dice, more than two and less than loads. |

12 – dice are an inevitable random element of the game but don't spoil the aesthetic of all my labour painting figures and making terrain. Keep your dice OFF MY TABLETOP
Thank you. |

As AB. I like dice per unit vs. die per figure. |

6, but leaning towards 2. Lots of dice and/or lots of dice rolling often mean annoying game mechanics but of course there are exceptions. |

1 or 6. Either a ton of dice to make up for my long streak of bad luck. Well, or 6 if I really enjoy the game, then I don't mind not having a lot of dice (and roll fewer badly rather than more dice). |

6 and 9. I trust game designers, they are GODS! If theyv told me to flip a coin, I would flip a coin. |

If we just had this poll my apologies. I hadn't noticed anything about dice so I threw 2d6 and went for it. |

Some dice, but not loads. |
Khusrau | 06 Jun 2012 5:07 a.m. PST |
I like the DBx mechanics, the excitement of directly rolling one dice against another, and getting immediate results gives me my adrenalin rush and the highs and lows I need. I don't mind some games with 'buckets o' dice' but it is a pain when I have to sort out 26 dice in games like Full Thrust or the BKC type games. It adds too much delay to the game for my taste. |
etotheipi | 06 Jun 2012 5:22 a.m. PST |
I like rolling dice – about a handful per engagement (8-10) is cool. More than that and it starts to become a chore. |
Karellian Knight | 06 Jun 2012 5:31 a.m. PST |
6. I like proper D6s with spots on and those with symbols like in the Command & Colours games. |
TodCreasey | 06 Jun 2012 5:52 a.m. PST |
2 as I understand probability. Buckets of dice is too easy to plan for (unless of course that is your intention). |

Polls? Ones with grownup answers, rather than 'yeah baby/love-hate/TMP cool-trash' answers (but that's just me)
Dice? Plenty of dice, but not bucketloads. I'm not wedded to dice as the mechanism (cards, straws, dominoes all work as well), nor to D6 as the only dice. But I do prefer games where the type of dice doesn't change. I sometimes get bored with games where everything involves a single D6 roll where 1 is bad and 6 is good (it suggests to me that the game designer needs to get out more). But if the game's topic and narrative is compelling, the chance mechanisms won't be noticeable anyway |

I will add that I like most alternate resolution mechanisms less than I like dice, but some dice mechanisms I prefer over others. |

Up to a point. Lots of dice for one result (i.e. "Full Thrust/More Thrust", Star Wars Miniatures Battles") can be kind of fun. Several dice many times for a single result (i.e., GW games) is a crashing bore. Roll to hit. Roll to penetrate. Roll to resist. Roll to save. Roll to wound. Roll to stun. Roll to regenerate. Roll for Morale. Roll to save versus Morale. NEXT ATTACK. Snore
