Why do you think they wanted to? Those that were born there never asked to be born there and most likely had no means of getting away. I doubt back then many had the option to hop on a plane or jetboat and hightail it out of there.. |

"Why would you want to live in an active volcano crater"? Well, from what I can see from the pic, it looks fairly spectacular inside, with lots of tropical vegetation, and clear pools of blue water. |
