Are these all the same figure line? I have some 15mm rev war figures I am having trouble identifying, but cannot find any photos of these guys on line anywhere to verify. Any help appreciated.

Mike's Models and Frontier are two separate lines that Modelers Mart used to sell back in the day. Mike Models are short and stocky, Frontier imo are similar to Old Glory. Have any pics of your guys? I know aecurtis had a MM catalog but he is no longer here.

Not the same, but all old companies that may have been sold to others.

Frontier UK Miniatures still produce some of their ranges:
ukfrontier.tripod.com/ukhome.htm
And the US version:
wargame51.tripod.com/wargame.htm

Mike's Models had a huge range of true 15mm that was bought by Essex.

The only Modeler's Mart I'm familiar with was a Hobby Shop in Florida ??

Can you post some pictures ?

My camera stinks for taking 15mm photos. That is why I was asking for any pics anyone might have or links to sites. The Frontier site has no AWI figures posted. :-(

I have some units of figures I cannot identify, but was led to believe they might be Mikes Models.

I visited the Modeler's Mart many years ago.

Do the line troops have a rather small backpack on them – say compared to minifigs?

I know the figures aren't Valiants, they aren't Minifigs, they aren't any of the figures on Deep Fried Crispy Mice – and the militia are definitely short and stocky.

Okay, I did find the US Frontier photos of the AWI guys. They are not Frontier figures.

I'll see if anyone can link or post a photo of some Mike's Models then. Thanks for the link. :-)

Haus of Stuff still exists? Thought it was defunct. Any chance the UK Frontier will do the old west, especially the Indians? Would be cool.

I thought it was gone too. Anyone managed to get any?

Okay, they are not Frontier figures.

I have two different poses of Americans. One pose is advancing, wooden canteen, small backpack, with fixed bayonet. The ensign only has a flag pole, no molded colour on it. The other pose is firing, same details as above.

The next units are militia, stocky, most with bayonets, a few don't. The ensign has a drawn sword, held pointing down, while his left hand clutches a kind of furled flag (modled to the pole).

The final unit appear to be German musket men, cocked hat, fixed bayonet, kind of a longer back pack, advancing with bayonets. The officer appears to be reaching for his sword as he is marching, the drummer is playing, and the ensign carries a displayed flag (molded to the pole). They have a small tin canteen, and carry swords.

I might make a guess that they are Mike's Models, but the variation of some flag poles with and without molded flags makes me think these might be two different makes.

I have ruled out all of the figures displayed on Deep Fried Happy Mice (with the exception of the Germans, whose back pack kind of locks similar.

Any help appreciated.

There is a yahoo group devoted to Mikes Models – and some of the folks there have posted pics and catalogs in the past – suggest you try there.

Looking at a catalog of figures from 1985 – they show a seven years war and napoleonic ranges for that time but no AWI

In the early Eighties I knew the two guys who ran the American side of Mike's Models, in NYC. As DisasterWargamer notes above, the company had a 15mm SYW range, but I don't recall an AWI line.

Thanks. I joined so I'll take a look. A mystery!

Have you ruled out the old 'strip" Minifigs AWI line?

historygamer Supporting Member of TMP02 Jun 2012 9:12 a.m. PST

Were those 15mm? The figures seem different than the classic Minifig 15mm AWI line.

Yes, true-sized 15mm. I'd painted a few hundred for a fellow back in the early '80's.

Any photos of what they looked like anywhere? :-)
