I'm gonna ask two questions for the price of one here!

First can anyone recommend a good source on how WW1 navies were painted? I'm really thinking of the ships involved at Jutland, but I would be interested in any period of the war.

The second question is: Are there any books availabe about the German WW1 raider Mowe?

Regarding your first question – Mal Wright wrote this up:

Mals' summation is excellent. My appreciation is that, even in mid and late war, the German gray was much lighter than the British.

The Kaiser's Pirates, German Surface Raiders in World War One has a chapter on the Mowe.
The only book I have that's just about the Mowe is
The Elusive Seagull by Edwin Hoyt. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answers lads. The Elusive Seagull has just been put to the top of my "To Buy" list. :-)
