After searching in vain for a CH-47 Chinook useable with 15mm figures, I finally found something that works if you are not too fussy about details and willing to push some putty : the radio-controlled Syma S026G helicopter. And the best thing about it is that the necessary parts can be bought for about 7 USD. The photo below is a WIP which is obviously still lacking engines and wheels with QRF and Peter Pig figures for scale.
Details can be found over at my blog : Searching for an affordable 1/100 CH-47 Chinook : bit.ly/KXPBvv 15mm CH-47 Chinook testbed : bit.ly/KXPBvv |

Very nice painting of our figures :-) |

Brilliant idea. Being able to buy it in pieces and not have to get the motors and whatnot makes the value even better. |

Maisto Tailwinds has a model that is probably slightly underscale but useable & cheap link |

The Maisto Chinook is much closer to 1/150 scale, fine for an airborne chopper or a landed one for use with 10mm figures. |

I think this works really well. Have the R/C or parts for a static would look awesome with the figures/vehicles/dio. Quick question though, as you have the shell option (spare parts). Is it feasible to make it so the ramp is down and an interior? or at least enough so 1/100 scale ATVs can be stowed inside. |

Resurrecting a dead thread: be aware that according to Syma this model is not in production any more and parts are in short supply. |
