Alright, so, in my endless quest to apparently convert everything, a plan has occurred to me, but given the shortness of funds, I want to make sure it's workable before I start ordering later this week. Perry (ACW) and/or Pig Iron metal heads on plastic Bolt Action bodies, then armed with assault rifles and/or SMGs- Heresy for the ARs (I already own a hundred of them), Heresy or Pig Iron for the SMGs? How about Hasslefree's CAD guns, with an eye towards future projects? Any size/sculpting/general compatibility issues I should be aware of before I start buying stuff? I realize the weapons will be a bit chunkier than those the Bolt Action figures are supplied with, but I'm fine with that- actually prefer that look, for what I'm after here, but anything extreme- heads too big/too small, weapons as long as the figure, etc.- I'd like to know about? Thanks. - Monk |

I'm no expert on most of the figures you mention, but I will say that I bought some Perry "Black Union Heads" for conversion purposes, and they look a little small, to my eye, when perched atop Westwind SHS bodies. Dang those Perrys and their anatomically correct sculpting! I may be going for some Wargames Factory Zulu heads in the end. Hope this helps! |

Thank you for the assist- a further question, though? I was under the impression that a lot of the more recent Westwind stuff is a bit chunkier, more on the GW scale, too, though, isn't it? All I have for comparison are the multi-part motorcycle gang boxed set they released, and most of the figs for Chaos In Cairo. - Monk |

Yes, the SHS figures are a good deal larger than their "Berlin or Bust" line. Bolt action figures are a little slighter -- although these things are awfully subjective. I do not say that the Perry heads are grotesquely small, they are just a tiny bit small for the particular application, IMO. |
