Straight from the caster's magical workshop…

The miniatures will be available for sale about next week.

Additionally, the Tigr sculpt is almost complete too:

EvinW8928 May 2012 7:24 a.m. PST

Very nice, now I know what to order the next months ;)

axabrax28 May 2012 8:54 a.m. PST

Love the idea. Can't see the miniatures well enough to get excited about them.

RTJEBADIA28 May 2012 9:00 a.m. PST

Will these be on the ebay store or on your own website?

Pole Bitwy PL28 May 2012 11:53 a.m. PST

RTJEBADIA: Both – the eBay store an dour own which will be up soon.

AXABRAX: Better pictures below [those are intermediate resin castings, not yet fully cleaned]:

What is your Ebay user name so I can find your store.

auction

I think this is the one.

alien BLOODY HELL surfer29 May 2012 8:15 a.m. PST

hmm, nice models, but are they going to ship out with that much flash on them? – quite a bit there to take off and resin can be a pain with this, let alone at 15mm. Would rather metal, but either way I can see myself get some of these for modern/near modern games :-)

Eli Arndt29 May 2012 9:05 a.m. PST

@Surfer,

[those are intermediate resin castings, not yet fully cleaned

Those are just quick snaps of the in-between resin casts. if I understand Piotr correctly, the final product will be cleaned up metal minis.

So looking forward to these, can we have some gas mask wearing versions for possible S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Metro 2033 scenarios?

alien BLOODY HELL surfer30 May 2012 4:41 a.m. PST

Thanks Eli – I wasn't sure if they would be cleaned up before shipping, I'd gathered the rest. I have to stop looking though as until I sell my current collections I can't do my new ones (15mm sci fi and moderns to start with)

Nandalf05 Jun 2012 1:50 p.m. PST

Any news Chaps?
After playing through Battlefield 3 I'm super eager for some of these guys :D

Ben.

Eli Arndt05 Jun 2012 2:19 p.m. PST

Not just yet. In communication with Piotr to try to get some news.

Johny Boy12 Jun 2012 1:44 p.m. PST

Any more news out there regarding these guys/, cheers all

Rebel Minis12 Jun 2012 1:51 p.m. PST

Those look great!

von pumpernickel17 Jun 2012 5:52 a.m. PST

and any update on these?

von pumpernickel19 Jun 2012 9:57 a.m. PST

so?

Pole Bitwy PL19 Jun 2012 12:35 p.m. PST

Hello,

My caster managed to destroy the production mould during the vulcanization process I was told, including the resin production masters, therefore they had to remake everything from scratch.

A working production mould and at least some castings should be available by this weeks end [Thursday / Friday ?!?!] I was told today. Seriously I hope this is going to be true…

von pumpernickel: Once I have at least a few metal castings, I can send you some free samples if you are interested ?
Just email me at: sztab@polebitwy.pl

Thanks and once more sorry for keeping you waiting.

Johny Boy19 Jun 2012 1:31 p.m. PST

Piotr, if there are some samples don't suppose there's a chance of a few as well, I'll paint them up for you and send the photo's .

Sorry to hear about the casting hassle, however I'm sure the wait will be worthwhile, is there a chance of doing some heads with full Russian gas mask and hood etc, so the figures could be converted for stalker, Metro 2033 scenario's?

Really, really looking forward to these and painting up the Khazak Liberation front for my Neo Sov future war project.

von pumpernickel19 Jun 2012 10:01 p.m. PST

mail sent Piotr, I look forward to these joining me out here in Kabul :)

Grishka20 Jun 2012 1:36 a.m. PST

sorry to hear that too !

but you can count on my ordering about 50 of these as soon as they are available, they are gorgeous !

republic of tolworth20 Jun 2012 2:04 a.m. PST

Bad news on the casting problems. Have the fellow flogged!

May I echo the idea of some with gas masks. Useful for SO many things. I could green stuff gasmasks, but after the third one I think I would give up the will to live.

RTJEBADIA20 Jun 2012 9:44 p.m. PST

Should we expect the SF civilians (mostly aliens, some humans) that you picked up from PF awhile ago to come out at around the same time?

Pole Bitwy PL21 Jun 2012 6:06 a.m. PST

RTJEBADIA: I don't think so. Unfortunately not yet.

I just talked to the owner of the casting business, but he didn't have any solid information for me. I need to contact his casters, but they are on some kind of training [!?!?] and don't answer telephones or SMS messages… :/

republic of tolworth21 Jun 2012 7:08 a.m. PST

You mean they were watching the footie?!

Pole Bitwy PL21 Jun 2012 7:35 a.m. PST

I would go as far to say they are still watching… :(

Eli Arndt21 Jun 2012 8:19 a.m. PST

Hope that all gets sorted out. Please keep in touch. We want these figs, man!

-Eli

Johny Boy21 Jun 2012 1:53 p.m. PST

Sure these will be well worth the wait, just to confirm i'll be putting in an order for 60 + confirmed of these when they become available, with quite a few more to follow, fantastic figures.

Eli Arndt21 Jun 2012 1:57 p.m. PST

Yeah, I can put in for a good number myself. Alcovia needs miniatures badly!

-Eli

Nandalf21 Jun 2012 2:46 p.m. PST

I think you should put up some sort of advance order for these guys!

Otherwise you're going to run out super quick :D

(…and I might miss out! haha)

Ben.

republic of tolworth21 Jun 2012 4:47 p.m. PST

I feel I may need a few squads as well.

Pole Bitwy PL22 Jun 2012 11:45 a.m. PST

Thanks gentlemen. Well the caster didn't manage to cast any minis today because he was out of metal.
He should receive more metal by Monday I was told.
Aaaarrrgh !

EvinW8923 Jun 2012 4:13 a.m. PST

And how can I order them? ^^

Johny Boy25 Jun 2012 3:11 p.m. PST

Be still my beating wallet!… any news?, i know you must be getting sick of us asking piotr, but any approx date for release, just need to make more room on the painting table

Pole Bitwy PL26 Jun 2012 7:10 a.m. PST

Johny:

I have just received an update from the owner of the casting / miniatures company and they did it again…

I have say I expected good news, but… they 'somehow' AGAIN destroyed the production mould as well as the resin production masters. So here we go again…

The owner of the casting company is also very shocked by this issue and promised me that I have priority over their other projects.

Once more the coming end of week / early next week I 'hope' for information that the whole process of casting of the resin production masters, cleaning them, making the production mould and FINALLY casting of the metal miniatures will be achieved.
Since the casters run a very successful 28mm resin and metal miniatures business [anyone ever heard about MaxMini.eu ?], with new moulds made weekly, I believed this wasn't an issue. Unfortunately, so far I have proved myself wrong and have a large backlog of greens with them, with no hope of a workable casting timetable.

Please bear with me a bit longer, while I quarter, hang and shoot [not necessarily in this order], the people responsible for this mega failure.

:( I am sorry guys… :(

Eli Arndt26 Jun 2012 7:36 a.m. PST

Piotr,

Is it possible to shift your operation to another molding/casting shop. Two broken molds in such a short time is troubling, at best.

-Eli

zardoz195726 Jun 2012 7:58 a.m. PST

Maybe stop posting until you actually have something?

(I make fun of others)26 Jun 2012 8:05 a.m. PST

Whatever happened with the guys who ordered from your first webstore and never got their figures?

Pole Bitwy PL26 Jun 2012 8:24 a.m. PST

Zardoz1957: That is one option but then others want updates.

Porfirio: They had their money refunded. Some of them also ordered further minis and are happy with them as far as I know. Case closed I believe.

Eli: In theory those guys are professionals. I mean who else would have in-house a brand new 3D printer as well as a spin caster and materials for casting in resin and/or metal plus a platoon of workers/helpers ? Still want to see their castings before I pronounce them dead. Plus in a week I wont be able to get anyone in Poland and rest of Europe to cast production pickup the package from courier and cast production masters and finally mould them… Have to wait even if this sounds stupid :/

republic of tolworth26 Jun 2012 8:33 a.m. PST

Best of luck!

Johny Boy26 Jun 2012 9:38 a.m. PST

Don't worry it's not stupid, they could be training somebody up etc, it happens occasionally in business. They are superb figures, hence the eagerness for them, but I think patience here will be rewarded. Look forward to these.

GeoffQRF26 Jun 2012 1:16 p.m. PST

Certainly put me off the idea of resin masters

ArmybitUK26 Jun 2012 1:21 p.m. PST

Aye

Ive a feeling resin masters is are whole different artform! Can I ask why use resin in the first place?

Eli Arndt26 Jun 2012 1:28 p.m. PST

The reason given was to cut on the amount of detail lost in the mastering process. Hot metal does pull back as it cools. Resin does not share this property.

You will get sharper details, in theory, on a resin master which means your production molds made off those masters should then have an increased amount of detail over ones made from metal masters.

-Eli

republic of tolworth26 Jun 2012 1:46 p.m. PST

Never knew that. Thanks for that. Looks like it is a long road for them though.

GeoffQRF26 Jun 2012 1:51 p.m. PST

Depends on the metal. Some metals actualy expand as they cool.

Pole Bitwy PL26 Jun 2012 1:53 p.m. PST

Exactly Eli. Resin production masters have almost exactly the same detail quality as the original green master. Hence the intermediate resin casting step and the reason why I am still waiting to see their first metal castings.

Geoff: It's not the fault of resin masters, rather incompetence on the part of the person monitoring the whole process at the caster.

Eli Arndt26 Jun 2012 1:53 p.m. PST

I've not heard of this being done before this. I'm surei t has, but not that trickled out to my ears.

One of the selling points GW used for its Finecast resin kits was this same sharp detail, except they are casting the final minis in resin as well.

-Eli

republic of tolworth26 Jun 2012 4:34 p.m. PST

Having seen the GW prices I thought the final casting was in some precious metal!
