Broken link -- even after doing a google search …. hmmm

Link works for me…

Interesting point Tim. Certainly all of the photos I recall seeing of the 251/10 D have the low profile shield.

But I see the DML kit has a full height shield:

On conducting a VERY quick search all I found were photos of Ds with low profile shields. Anyone…?

Having hunted around some more, I have found nothing to suggest there were factory versions of the 251/10 Ausf D with anything but the low profile shield.

The only counter-example I have come across are references to a single photograph of a 251 Ausf D mounting a Pak with high shield and it is variously asserted that the vehicle in question had its gun added via field modification.

A highly detailed review has been posted by Cristian Florescu on his new site:

The review is vague on the Pak shield issue we have been discussing and I don't agree with the comment:
"All three MGs in the box are MG34 and nicer would have been to receive an MG42…"

They most definitely look like MG42s to me and that was previously confirmed by Will in relation to the 15mm version of this kit:

Otherwise, a very good review. Includes a useful size comparison with the DML (Dragon) 251/D among the images. They look highly compatible.

From the pictures in the review the MG are MG42

Just in case anyone comes along now and reads the review I linked and then starts wondering what the heck we were talking about…

I have corresponded with Cristian and he has amended his review to reflect the MGs in the kit being MG42 (in light of Will having confirmed that with respect to the smaller version of the kit).
