Following a rapid deterioration of the situation on the Kaliningrad enclave, it seems that Russian troops invaded the Baltic states, trying to safeguard their interest by force. NATO seems caught of guard. Rumors say that some rapid deployment forces, mostly US, have been deployed to try to slow down the Russians while rounding up heavier units. More info here link |

I saw this game at Salute and took a load of pictures myself. It was awesome. All the terrain is scratchbuilt. The 1/48-50 tanks are masterpieces – I particulalrly like the BMP-3. Red Star figures look great too. I can't remember what make the US troops are. Brooks Miniatures maybe? |

Red Star Miniatures, I'm not normally a fan of 28mm figures, but that was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Wow! we all do art, but that's exceptional artwork! Stunned, - Tim |

Very interesting but I am quite sure that once NATO forces were involved, there would be Polish QRF not to mention air assets involved too, since that war would spill over our borders anyway

Wow! While I guess there was some Photoshopping to hide figure bases and add atmosphere, this is still diorama quality gaming scenery. I'm highly impressed. |

Indeed excellent! And a personal thanks for the first shot which also answers scale upfront. That is going to be hard to top! |

That's a really nice set up – 28mm is ideal for demo games, if a little difficult for the average gamer to afford and accomodate. Very impressed – I always liked the look of the old Soviet/Russian eqt. A question jumped to my mind when I saw the infantry figures posed around the tanks. I heard on TV/read somewhere not sure that infantry need ot be around 50-100m away from a tank when it fires it's main gun, or the overpressure can be dangerous. Maybe this is a 'range safety' issue that is not followed in combat. Does anyone know either way? |

Can we find out more about the vehicles? Where can we get them? |

Ghost – Chemin de Feu uses HLBS, Imprint and Kitech/Zhengdefu 1/48 scale kits that thye have heavily modified. The T72M2 with reactive armor is an example fot eh modleing they do. You can see a complete list of their vehicles at the Chemin de Feu website AND the Redstar miniatures gallery. |

oooookaaay
..for 28mm am I suppose to use 1/56th, 1/50th, or 1/48 Armor??????? |
Goose666 | 29 May 2012 2:29 p.m. PST |
Ghost, thats a whole pickle can worth of worms you are openning there.. My advice.. I use 1/56th for WW2, 1/50th for monders.. why?? Purely costs and availability of the models. WW2,, BAM, FoA, Company B, AGN etc,,do a good range. For moderns I went with 1/50th, as I found Imprint, affordable and nice, and I can buy cheap die-cast toy cars that pretend to be 1/43 scale but fit perfectly for 28mm. So, find the maker who makes the most vehicles you like and go with them. They all look pretty much the same once on the table, and you are playing. |
Goose666 | 29 May 2012 2:30 p.m. PST |
Ghost6, their vicles are from imprint, and from red star miniatures. |
Lobsterback | 29 May 2012 3:02 p.m. PST |
Ghost – Goose 666 hits the nail on the head. It's what's on the table that counts – I mix 1/56, 1/50 and 1/48 all the time. The key is NOT to mix two of the same kind of vehicle in different scales eg – no 1/56 and 1/50 Scimitars because the scale differential is very noticable. That said, a 1/56 scimitar can balst a 1/50 BMP2 or 3 with little or no problem or be positioned with a 1/50 Challenger 2 as they are different vehicles. Hope that helps! |
Ghost6 | 29 May 2012 3:31 p.m. PST |
So the key is to keep the same scale for a class of vehicles
say for example, use 1/56 for all T-72s? |
