Finally managed to finish my 12ème Cuirassiers by painting the last two minis. All in all it took over 3 years due to the project changing hands from my better half to me, the decision to switch men / mini ratios, getting the math wrong and a miscast horse. link Minis are all Perry metals.

Burkhard, Good looking group and worth the wait. But I bet you're glad to finish them off, as nothing worse than an almost completed unit sitting around. John |

THX John, I am really glad. Those two on my workbench have been bugging me for months, so it feels good to have them off my chest! Not that I could not have done so earlier
I just always gave other stuff a higher priority. Cheers, Burkhard |

Burkhard: Nice work – some of the chaps look a bit wild-eyed with the photo magnification, but they still look great – especially all lined up awaiting orders. I must say the metals are elegantly posed; I have the their plastic set which is very nice, but these metals have a life of their own. Best, Dean |

THX guys! @Dean: I agree they have lots of character. The downside is that the castings are no as crisp. I got some minis that seem to be from early production runs and they already have lots of flesh and the like. Thrse seem to be from a later casting and had lots of casting imperfections. Which is a shame. Cheers, Burkhard |

Burkhard: I had the same thing with some of their samurai and British Rifles; beautiful sculpts, but maybe the molds are well used (not surprising with their popularity). Best, Dean |

Best, Dean I'm not a fan of painted eyes at this scale but I do like the "wild-eye" look you have on your cavalry. Sort of reminded me of a Detaille painting. Great looking cavalry. |

Thank you guys! @Dean: i doubt, that it is just mould deteriation. I bought some models at Crisis last year, that were so new, that I have not seen them in their online catalogue yet and they had lots of flash already. So I think it has something to do with their caster. Shame really! @Ashenduke: THXs. They look non-wild-eyed IRL. I think it has something to do with the. Fact that the picutres are two to three times life sized
so it looks exagerated. But I am happy with them, too! |
