1. Figures, by a long shot
2. Books, by a long shot
3. Neck and neck, hard to tell
4. Books? What books?
5. Skirmish player, only own 30 figures

Last time we moved it took two crates. If you only mean wargame (excluding history) books, then …

Figures books are a close second

Sundance22 May 2012 6:36 p.m. PST

2 definitely, though my figures would give the hulk a hernia.

Yesthatphil22 May 2012 6:40 p.m. PST

2, easily ..

LordNth22 May 2012 6:53 p.m. PST

2 but not by a long shot. They are closing in and it's only because I sold most of my 70-80s 25mm back in 2005. I did not sell most of my books. (Heavy Metal is counted as a book right?)

highlandcatfrog22 May 2012 6:57 p.m. PST

2 without a doubt.

I've got a lot of figures but over 4K books when I stopped counting.

2 without a doubt. My library is far too large.

Meaning that it would be too much truble to actually go and figure it out.

3. Most definitely books! We have a room dedicated to books. Rpg, wargame rules, novels, reference books. 3 of the 4 walls have approx 8 to 9 foot high bookshelves filled. And this does not include professional reading material or the other half's recipe books

Since we are in the process of moving, I can categorically state:

Boxes upon countless backbreaking boxes!

Use to be the books, but the books are leaving pretty fast these days and the 28mm lead is moving in pretty fast!

evilgong22 May 2012 8:02 p.m. PST

What a question,

It could take weeks to find out.

2 at least 10 to 1

nsolomon9922 May 2012 10:05 p.m. PST

Great question Vincent :) I think about 2.5 for me. Books by a smidgeon – at last count figures were approaching 10,000 but then I've got a lot of books.

basileus6622 May 2012 10:31 p.m. PST

2, no question.

2. You can throw in all the boardgames, painting stuff, the bike, and myself on the minis' side and the books still win handsomely.

Mr Pumblechook22 May 2012 10:41 p.m. PST

Each is heavier than the other.

Keraunos22 May 2012 11:33 p.m. PST

three x 2 metre high shelves of books,
one x 2 metre high shelf of figures.

Klibanophoros22 May 2012 11:53 p.m. PST

Books. I've moved twice in the last 3 years and I think the moving companies now have me on a blacklist.

uruk hai23 May 2012 2:05 a.m. PST

By volume or weight? Including scenery and paraphernalia?

Combat Colours23 May 2012 2:29 a.m. PST

2! Almost two thousand!

Martin Rapier23 May 2012 3:12 a.m. PST

Books. I have a lot of plastics and 6mm. Six floor to ceiling height shelves of books vs only one for figures, half the books are my wife's though.

2, without a doubt.

3 – I have maybe a bookcase and a half of books and about 6 bookcases of figs, but the books are bloody heavy

vtsaogames23 May 2012 5:13 a.m. PST

7 cases of books, 2 of figures.

panzerCDR23 May 2012 5:16 a.m. PST

Easily 2. My mother-in-law once told my wife "this has got to stop!" in regards to my books. I don't see my mother-in-law much any more . . .

Books. Most of them I've had for many many many many years, whereas figures just for many years. Each book is bigger, too.

richarDISNEY23 May 2012 7:37 a.m. PST

2, Books.

We are moving in a month and our movers have estimated they need to bring 680 boxes to pack books. (Well that's how many small boxes suitable for moving heavy items such as books; some doubtless will be used for other small heavy things.) Plus the small matter of 2 dozen comic book boxes or so.

Bashytubits23 May 2012 8:12 a.m. PST

3 for me. If either pile fell on you, it would be hasta la vista.

John D Salt23 May 2012 10:45 a.m. PST

The reason?

"One word: Plastics."

All the best,

John.
