The Field of Glory Spanish Allied Division for the Anglo-Portuguese Army List in the rulebook allows for a rifle attachment. What type of Spanish Infantry had rifles?

I can't think of any Spanish that did. Portugeses and British, but no Spanish.

I'm sure Sharpe joined the Spanish on various occasions…

I do not believe that any Spanish officially did. I'm guessing that it must represent an attachment from an allied nation.

Some might turn up in guerilla bands.

But I can't find reference to any Spanish rifle regiments. British, German and Portuguese. But no Spanish.

That is a typo mentioned in errata-they are not supposed to have the rifle special capability. As in the Spanish list, the attached skirmisher companies are musket-armed.

Though I like the Sharpe idea.

Officially, none. Some militias used hunting rifles, though, as the Juntas hadn't the money to supply all new regiments with muskets and therefore many volunteers provided their own weapons. Mind that those weapons were intended for hunting small game, therefore they hadn't the stopping power of the bigger caliber rifles used by the military -or the American militiamen in AWI-. In all documents they appear mentioned they are regarded as rather poor weapons for use in military operations.

MikeKT,

You mentioned an errata. I regularly look at the Slitherine FOG N forum and people keep asking for
an official errata.

Where can I find it?

MikeKT,

I rechecked the Slitherine FOG N Forum and found
the errata.

Thank you,

Joe

I'm quite looking forward to playing the Spanish some time, almost as much as Neapolitans vs. Austrians.

The Spanish do have some required Poor Drilled and Average Conscript troops, which handle differently and should be interesting.
