I vote for Robert Burns.

One has to know their Great Scottish poets. ;-)

"If Burns, why the tricolor?"

It's not a tricolor. The blue should be on the Left, and the Red on the right. And the white isn't a stripe, but rather just the stylized color of his face and shirt.

Midpoint you disprove your own theory with those pictures. The facial features are completely different as is the hairstyle. If I knew how to attach photos to TMP I'd use the exact image of Burns this copy is based on. Google "Robert Burns" on "Images" on Google.

It is without doubt Rabbie Burns, based on the painting by Alexander Nasmyth, 1787, now in Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh. The fact that Burns had a radical edge epitomised by the then current French Revolution might have inspired the present artist in his use of colour.

The red, white and blue is a play on the 'Hope' portrait of Obama.

GROSSMAN21 May 2012 11:23 a.m. PST

Was he born in Kenya too?

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER21 May 2012 4:57 p.m. PST

No but he had applied to Nova Caledonia for a Tourist Visa.

"Was he born in Kenya too?"

No, but he was rather rather fond of discussing Uganda with anyone who would listen.
