"If Burns, why the tricolor?" It's not a tricolor. The blue should be on the Left, and the Red on the right. And the white isn't a stripe, but rather just the stylized color of his face and shirt. |

Midpoint you disprove your own theory with those pictures. The facial features are completely different as is the hairstyle. If I knew how to attach photos to TMP I'd use the exact image of Burns this copy is based on. Google "Robert Burns" on "Images" on Google. |

It is without doubt Rabbie Burns, based on the painting by Alexander Nasmyth, 1787, now in Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh. The fact that Burns had a radical edge epitomised by the then current French Revolution might have inspired the present artist in his use of colour. |
