Im interested at some point on gaming the Kentish uprisings of the 1460's as well as those of Robin of Redesdale & Robin of Holderness in the North of England. What Ill need help with is which of the current existing plastic sets out there when mixed with the Perry Bros bill & Bow set will give a good peasant rabble look? Thanks for any help on the conversions. |

Maybe the GB saxons for the sword/spear arms? The problem is going to be that a LOT of the bill/bow bodies are wearing bits of armour. Peasant rabble would likely have very little armour at all. Crusader have a metal pack of armed peasants, but only 4 poses. Foundry have some packs, but again metal and expensive. Wargames Factory have a box of plastic unarmoured saxons which might pass for medieval peasantry with shield swaps. |

The Gripping Beast Hird look like they offer some nice mailed arm options that might work nicely with the Perry bodies. It could give me some spear, and axe holding hands for the rabble look.: link Saxons:

Black Tree Design also do peasants for far less than Foundry. Wargames Factory have unarmored Dark Ages infantry that might work as well, either as straight from the box or for conversions. They come in Saxon Fyrd:
and Viking Bondi:
