I recently watched "Mosquito Squadron", a film that inspired me from my childhood. Should have left it there. It turned out to be (to me), really really bad. I know now how my snobby modeller friends must feel when they watch a "historical" film.

Pictors Studio19 May 2012 8:55 p.m. PST

Serpent and the Rainbow. Pretty good movie when I was 12. Not so good later in life.

Not so much a film, but I recently re-watched The UNknown War, picked it up on DVD. I remember watching it as a kid. But now that I re-watch it now, I feel I should have left it with nostalgia…

Damon.

Seems like a funny question – if you hate a movie why even consider watching it again

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP19 May 2012 10:14 p.m. PST

The new Conan. It as like taking a forced enema the first go around. Cant imagine a second pass.

helmet10119 May 2012 10:39 p.m. PST

irreversible – the director should be put in a cell and the key dropped somewhere in a sewer. I have rarely seen so violent trash in the name of cinematographic "art"

Bashytubits19 May 2012 10:53 p.m. PST

I second the new Conan. What a stinker! I got lucky and the speakers blew out halfway through the movie enabling me to get a refund. Bad, bad movie.

The Silence of the Lambs. Brilliant movie and I believe everyone should see it. But it left me so emotionally empty (or maybe exhausted) that I have no desire to see it again. I literally couldn't smile for 3 days afterwards.

basileus6619 May 2012 11:27 p.m. PST

Alien 3. It ruined my joy of Alien and Aliens. I almost needed therapy to get over it!

kreoseus220 May 2012 1:51 a.m. PST

Warlock, saw it when i was a kid and thought it was great, saw a bit of it a while ago- sweet jesus if was woeful.

sillypoint20 May 2012 2:20 a.m. PST

Maple leaf, I didn't know I hated it, in fact I loved it, or at least the version of it I remembered. It's like the soundtrack to "Squadron 633", love it, play it, but I'm scared to see the movie, because I suspect it'll destroy my memory of it.

Whereas "Zulu" is on continuous loop.

RittervonBek20 May 2012 3:19 a.m. PST

Barb wire – tried to watch it twice and gave up at the same point each time.

Klibanophoros20 May 2012 3:20 a.m. PST

Terence Hill and Bud Spencer movies were hilarious………

mrwigglesworth20 May 2012 4:52 a.m. PST

Saving private Ryan – I felt like crap after that movie.
Pulp Fiction – What a horrible movie!

cfielitz20 May 2012 5:29 a.m. PST

Seven, for the same reason that Billiam has concerning Silence of the Lambs.

Militia Pete20 May 2012 5:53 a.m. PST

The Thin Red Line. Total waste of time.

Next is Anzio. Still can't past the first 5 minutes.

Patrick R20 May 2012 6:11 a.m. PST

Any of the "something"-Movie series. Most of the jokes were stale when they came out.

Tomb Raider, I know the film exists, and I have watched something that claims to be it, but at the end I just have 90-odd minutes of lost time.

Highlander, a perfect example of a movie that is utterly brilliant at telling complete nonsense that is amazing the first time round. Not so much fun the second time around (thank Cthulhu they never made any sequels …)

Hudson Hawk. Nuff said.

Dynaman878920 May 2012 6:12 a.m. PST

Buck Rogers (the seventies version), other then Wilma Dearing it was not worth watching again. I was never that impressed with the Ardala character

OldGrenadier Fezian20 May 2012 6:23 a.m. PST

I dunno, I rather liked Ardala. Great stuff for an adolescent boy's hormones :) Still, the show itself doesn't bear watching a second time. Having seen Zardoz once it is not neccessary to watch it again.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm pretty much this way about movies I like. They stick in my head and I don't need to see them again for several years. Even my favorites.

Serpico – it's a pretty good film, but in my memory it was a masterpiece.

I like Zardoz and have seen it many times.

Silent Running. Watched it yesterday and it didn't quite have the same appeal as when I was a kid.

Once again, it is entertaing to see how many totally fail to get the point of the OP. grin You gotta read more than just the title…

I don't think I would want to see a movie again whose plot tists took me comletely bu surprise. I thought that The Sixth Sense and Murder on the Orient Express were fine movies that knowing the ending would ruin.
I can watch The Godfather, The Man Who Would be King, Last of the Mohicans, etc 24/7, because it's the story that gets me every time. No huge surprises or Gotcha! scenes.

Major Mike20 May 2012 7:48 a.m. PST

Ok, OFM….. The Crying Game

Personal logo FingerandToeGlenn Sponsoring Member of TMP20 May 2012 7:56 a.m. PST

When I was 9, Attack of the Mole People scared the crud out of me. When I saw it again a few years ago, it was just silly.

However, for really bad, Warriors of Virtue. All copies should be reduced to their component chemicals and recycled as cat food.

Blacklight620 May 2012 7:59 a.m. PST

Dragonwars… never in my life have I seen such a Bad mix of …Everything!

John the OFM20 May 2012 8:15 a.m. PST

I don't think I would cry nearly as much at the end of Old Yeller at my age, but you never know. I'm a sentimental SOB.

I loved Mel Gibsons "Attack Force Z" as a kid, I wonder if that holds up at all.

What Kyote said.

wrgmr120 May 2012 9:55 a.m. PST

When I was a kid the television shows, Combat and Rat Patrol I couldn't wait to see. I watched an old Combat recently and went Wow, these are really bad.

As movies go, Flyboys is awful.

Exactly.
I cried as a kid but not recently when I saw it again..
The memory was much better.

Yesthatphil20 May 2012 12:01 p.m. PST

Anything with Chuck Norris in it (whatever it seems to be about) …

ming3120 May 2012 2:47 p.m. PST

Taking Chance ,,,a good film about a fallen iraq soldier and how he was brought home . Cried more than old Yeller .

Wizard Whateley20 May 2012 3:36 p.m. PST

Schindler's List. Very powerful film, but once is enough.

Death in Venice….I cannot ever watch it again..

Niether can Gustav von Aschenbach.

ochoin deach21 May 2012 4:14 a.m. PST

Anything with Mel Gibson starring in it.

I know it's trendy around here to dislike Mel but I actually can't stand him as an actor.

Shark Six Three Zero21 May 2012 5:10 a.m. PST

Witness for the Prosecution. Once you see the ending…and its a great film… you never need to watch it again.

John the Greater21 May 2012 6:50 a.m. PST

The Poseidon Adventure (1972). No man should be exposed to Shelley Winters in wet underwear more than once.

ChicChocMtdRifles21 May 2012 7:26 a.m. PST

There's too many to list as being crap, but the onlyone for sentimentle reasons is Croc Dundee. Shortly after my lady and I had seen it three or four times she dropped me for an older man.

Maybe we shoulda gone only one time…

Old Slow Trot21 May 2012 7:35 a.m. PST

Several, many of which I avoid on principal ,if able.
