Is this a good price for Napoleonic Hat boxes? I went by a local RC car and Plane hobby shop here in Champaign Illinois. They also had Revelle and Italieri for $6.00 USD and $7.00 USD a box or so.

I´m not in the US, but based on prices in the Beautiful Czech Republic, and a quick search at Hannants in the UK, five bucks looks pretty good. I assume you mean 1/72 scale.

Yes I should have said 1/72. Most of what they have is French, Russian, some Prussians, Austrians, KGL etc. I did spot six boxes of Bavarian Cavalry and 12 or so Infantry.

I like their figures very much. Right now I am painting up three boxes of Prussians. I think Hat generally does better detail, but for some reason Italeri have much better hands and muskets.

Five bucks is a good price.

Sets of 1/72 retail between $13 USD-$22 her ein Australia , so yes $5 USD is good

cheers Tom

Wow, I thought ten bucks was bad here, but you folks in Australia have it even worse.

$5.00 USD is good. I think they are $9.00 USD at Hobby Town.

Yep, good price. If you want them, buy them before someone else sees them.

Yep, good sale price. Nab 'em

But only if you are going to use them – don't buy them just to try and offload on eBay, as they may make an interesting purchase for some kids at that price.

Better yet at that price, buy some boxes and give them away to kids in your family or neighbourhood. A small expense for you, a great investment in our hobby's future!

I can understand why they are $5 USD bucks a box. I feel safe doubting the commitment of the Illinois RC community toward the hobby of recreating the Napoleonic-era on a tabletop in 1/72 scale. My local RC shop tried the same thing a number of years ago with a similar price-slashing result.

Strange though in some ways, as kids go into these stores and I would have thought/hoped there was some cross over appeal ( I played with both toy soldiers and r/c cars as a kid).

Marc,

You have not responded to my emails re Perponcher's Division and Merlen's brigade for the 100 Days.

If you no longer want the collection, please say so and I will offer the collection to others.

Please say so one way or the other. I am unemployed and need the money.
