First off I really like the Rick the flag dude. But having an issue. So was wondering if any one know of another flag maker that's on par with him. I do 15mm ACW. I don't mind paying for quality and fast turn around. Thanks. |

I don't know of any manufacturers that make flags already attached to the pole. Rick's been singularly innovative on that score. But I think its safe to say there are flags sold in the usual form that are not quite as washed out in color – but thats not what you are asking I know. |

Maverick makes similar quality flags and last I spoke to him, he was considering beginning to offer flags already on the pole, so perhaps if several more people prod him a bit on that issue

Yes, I feel your pain. my recent order (fourth order in total) was sent over a month ago and no acknowledgement or reply was received. I sent a status request email yesterday and still no reply. I understand that this is part time venture for him and that a few months ago he was busy with work/training. In fairness, I believe his web site does state that orders may take three to four weeks. Still, it is only resonable that he should send a reply if there may be delays with the order. It is the lack of communication and not knowing what the status of the order is or even if the order was recieved that is most frustrating. Nonetheless, Rick produces a superb product; flags that are well researched, on the pole waving with a realistic fold, with finials and cords that are painted. Also, he is most helpful in researching for flags that are not on his list (in my case War of 1812 flags. I do hope that all is well with Rick and 'The Flag Dude' enterprise. |

I just bought from GMB. Service and quality second to none. Maverick are also very good. |

I heard Rick's house got hit by Tornado. Anyone have any updates. I hope everyone is alright. |

Nope looked online, checked there newspaper and looked at the local news. No tornado warning in April. The first time since 2004. To quote a local news story. Also checked the national tornado center hasn't been one near him in over a year. |

Hey everyone
.I spoke with Rick today by phone, he has had three stays in the hospital in the past month with a recurring health issue, which has put him out of action for flag-making and out of contact with customers. He is recovering at home and was busy making flags today trying to get caught up. He said to express his regrets to all customers who have been patiently waiting and wondering, and promises you will receive your orders soon. Rick also stated he still plans to attend upcoming ORIGINS and HISTORICON. FYI: the tornado rumor was months ago, Rick's home and his parent's home received minor damage, but that has all been repaired, and no injuries. Rick asked me to post this reply to ease your worries, Rick has had a tough year, but FLAG DUDE is still in business. Regards, Larry GettysburgSoldiers.com |

Thank you for the update. I hope he is doing better and I am glad to hear he is home from the hospital. Flags and mini's are nice, but one's health and family are way more important then this hobbie. Best wishes |
