A couple of months ago, I hatched the scheme of photographing my entire collection for insurance purposes. I didn't really get the idea off the ground for a variety of reasons. However, finding myself with an idle hour yesterday, I set out my Napoleonic British army and photographed the lot. Half catalogue, half parade, I found it a very soothing experience and one that I would heartily recommend. You can find pictures of M'Lord Wellington's forces here. link |

Good grief, sir! I'm not sure you have enough troops

Those are impressive forces. I particularly liked this picture where the chap in the middle looks like he is about to decapitate the chap next to him with his sabre:

I'm a little frightened of what will happen when I lay out my French. My British army is my small army, as they are usually the heroes of the piece. This could get seriously out of hand

Great job on your part, and very inspiring. I've been thinking of holding a grand review on the dining room table one of these evenings when the wife is out. This may just provide the push I needed. Grelber |

i've done this a few times in the last 30 years. Photo a division at a time (or brigade if need be). It's handy to just go to your computer to see whats done, needs to be done. |

Always great to see complete or rather full collections. You don't see many posted that often. Thanks for posting. |

Now if I ever have Der Alte Fritz's table AND 15mm armies painted to those 28mm standards, I'll be in serious trouble :) |

Fritz the S.O. saw your photo and said, "There's a guy who's not married." I'll try to correct that impression. |

"My Prussian army of 28 squadrons of cavalry, 12 battalions of infantry, 1 light jager battalion and 8 field guns in the artillery park." Well, my French are a bit bigger in No. of Squadrons and Battalions
but c 1/4 of the manpower (Age of Reason rules) :) Must say looking at those BIG scale armies I think I should double up on scale at least, but its a daunting task for Lace Wars troops (vs say WW1 etc). |
