A truly big siege at modern Era to one of the most famous and biggest capital cities.
This page would show you a lot of interesting data.

Menu. It seems that you can eat very well if you had the money taking in account the situation.

Guess that nobody had tried to wargame it?

I'd hardly call 1871 "modern".

…It depends what sort of food you like. Most of the meat on this menu comes from the Paris zoo. It is an historical fact: the zoo animals were eaten. This menu says:
"stuffed donkey head"
"elephant soup"
"roasted camel"
"kanguroo stew"
"roasted bear steack with pepper"
"wolf leg"
"cat accompanied with rats"
"antelope pâté"
But they still had good wine.

I am thinking of playing certain scenes from the Siege in 54mm over the winter for the next Volume of Funny Little Wars.

Thanks for the post!

The various operations to break the siege make great scenarios.

Interesting, thanks.

I was thinking of using one particular sector and fort – and including sorties by the defender as the siege progresses.

Sounds good my friend!.

Doing a siege generally isn't much fun. I agree with kingscarbine that the various attempts to break the siege would be great fun.

Now I just need to make a friend who has all the necessary figures.

Bon Appétit :/
price: 2 francs per rat here, first rats are worth 75 centimes in december 1870 on the market, in comparison 8 francs for a cat, 50 for a lettuce and 200 for the bear

I'm in Disneyparc Paris at this very moment avec mon famille. It feels like a siege with billions of Europeans around! Crowds everywhere … 90 minutes queue for each ride. Truly the modern era of the FPW.

I have started the task of converting the Army in Plastic ACW Siege cannons into Krupp guns…

and I would like to get them into action by mid September.

The next task is choosing an 'Arrondisment' and fort to defend.
