Writing in Miniature Wargames 268, Anthony Dawson reports that while sergeants traditionally carried the halberd, corporals may have carried halberds as well.

The stores muster at Pontefract and Sandal indicates a double complement of halberds to sergeants. Either the stores had plenty of spares, there were twice as many sergeants or, more likely, sergeants and corporals were issued halberds.

Do your corporals carry halberds?

I don't think I model corporals in ECW games typically.

My NCOs carry Halberds but I don't differentiate them further.

Corporals fought in the ranks so were armed in the field as either musket or pike

STores do as they say! a regimnent in garrison would have more kit than needed in case any broke, or some admin error didn;t move the on or they belonged to someone and they'd be b******d if they were going to let anyone else have them!!

ALso, on sentry duty a halberd is a tad handier than a pike!
