"Box scale".

yoakley13 May 2012 6:32 a.m. PST

The Star Wars Stormtroopers are 20mm. Too big for 15mm.

War Monkey13 May 2012 7:07 a.m. PST

Thanks for the info, is that for all their figs as well? I also see that I shouldn't be typing in such a hurry either, "who" should have been "do" the laughs on me.

They vary a bit in scale, with the imperials generally being a bit bigger than the rebels. In any event, they are all about 1/72 or 1/76. Too big for 15mm, they would work for 20mm.

The MICRO Machine ones are way smaller than that more like 10mm. The Ships (fighters) in the series are a little larger then the ones that came in the SWMB series.

I have a MM Darth Vader, and he *might* be suitable for 15mm, he's supposed to be pretty tall as it is. Especially if you base your 15s and maybe don't base him.

I made some figures in that line for Hasbro, they were supposed to be .8" to .85", depending on the figure, which is about 1/87, 20mm.

The ones I have at hand measure 20-22mm head to toe depending on the pose.

James, I'm not sure what MM Stormtroopers you're thinking of, but they are 20-22mm tall. I own 100's of all the Star Wars MM figs (have them in front of me). Maybe you're thinking of the Battle of Hoth Ertel Model sets?

Thanks,

John

Agree with John.

You guys have probably seen this already, but I posted something about this to TMP.

My blog has a picture of Micro Machines figures in front of a scale picture.

Are these Micro Machine or the Collectable Mini game?

Eclipsing Binaries03 Jun 2012 8:26 a.m. PST

Those are Micromachine.

Just a query what scale are the figures from the Predator sets?

Cheers

Jeff

Funny story…
I managed to collect about 50 imperials, spent a week painting them all to a very good standard. I was very, very happy how they'd came out. Left them out one day as I was going to varnish them. Came how to find our very young dog had chewed the lot. No idea why. All that was left was some stormtrooper arms, legs, and the odd torso.

Evidently that dog was in league with the rebel scum!

Either that or you should stop using bacon grease as a paintbrush lather!

Are you thinking of the Hoth dioramas that AMT/ERTL have been producing since the 80s?

That's the only 10mm Star Wars that I'm aware of…

That would easily be enough to make me cry for a few minutes.

I do not take loss of hard work very well anymore after having to strip and repaint the same late war British rifle platoon three times because of repeated varnish mishaps. I do not understand how the same issue can occur with three different cans of sealant on three different days with ideal weather conditions. The final time I just sealed them inside with GW purity seal. The only sealant that seems to work properly for me at all times…….

Unfortunately. Meh.

@Wolfprophet,

My worst varnishing incident was when I bought a can of Matt Varnish spray from Halfords. I'd been recommended this by someone and seen his minis, so knew it was fine.

Got home and sprayed two regiments of 15mm Napoleonic French Middle Guard infantry… and thought to myself, "That don't look right! Well, maybe it'll dry clear" Left the minis for a while and they stayed white. Tried the varnish on a bit of wood and it was white paint.

I went back to the store and the shop assistant shrugged his shoulders and said someone must have been swapping the lids.

How do you explain to someone that a good few hours of work had just been wasted?

(Sorry for going off topic)

Here is what I can add to this discussion.
I don't know of any 15mm scale Starwars, please enlighten me.

I have in my collection a lot of the following.

Starwars Micro machine figures are 20mm or 1/72 scale

Starwars Micro machine figures fron the Action series are larger more like 25mm (These are the bendable figures and not really good for a gamming standard without some putty)
The AT-ST Speederbikes and escape pod is also about 25mm.

Starwars Micro machine vehicles and ships are all over the map (Pun intended). Fighters and snow speeders are maby 8-9 mm where large ships are very small in scale and vary a lot. The AT-ST can be used as a slightly large 10mm scale. Fighters would work for X-wing I think, if you already have them and are trying to keep the budget.

The MPC Millenium Falcon is 20mm or 1/72 (I know I have it)
The MPC diorama's "Battle on the Ice planet Hoth" and the "Rebel Base" are 10mm and make a good small scale for the Hoth battle.

Other mini's are West end games at 28mm and WoTC at 32mm
Also Kenner Star Wars Micro collection is 28mm metal.

cooey2ph16 Oct 2012 5:42 p.m. PST

I agree with miniman13's inout. The star wars micromachine stormtroopers are 20mm while the MPC is 10mm.

Hi guys

with a little effort you can make/convert/find 15mm star wars figures, see here
