We're keeping a blog on this diorama on the Great Escape Games WW2 Blog.

Good start. But you really need to think about the barrel and hatch hinges for the T-34. The barrel looks too large and the (greenstuff) hinge too crude. Hope you do not take this as an offensce, but this has potential for a real great diorama and it would be a shame if such things would ruin the overall look!

what scale, or size, are these? I couldn't find a reference..

AONeill13 May 2012 2:32 a.m. PST

I believe those are 28mm your eminence.

Does seem rather an oversight to miss scale entirely off their web site.

Skarper13 May 2012 2:50 a.m. PST

I guess they know the scale – and so it's obvious…easy mistake to make really.

Patton Museum t34-85. Crude doesn't do it justice.

That he is using a CD for the circular base is also a clue – shouldn't have to look that hard for it though!

The T-34 is by Warlord and he hasn't by any means finished with it.

As Phil says, the real things are crude as hell and model T-34s are usually nowhere near as 'badly-modelled' as the real ones. This T-34/85 at Bovington suffered from severe mould-slip and flash on the turret and mantlet. You can't really see it in this photo, but somebody went mediaeval with an angle-grinder to clean up the flash before priming:

Life imitating art. :o)
