Writing in Battlegames magazine, Bob Barnetson observes
Small figures like these require a less dark wash than larger figures
Do you agree? |

I haven't used any washes for my sixes, but I imagine I will when I get around to white coated troops, in which case I am leaning towards a lighter shade. |

but definitely use a dark wash on some guys, lighter on others -so no, don't agree. |

I actually find a darker wash works a bit better on 6mm than 10mm (I don't do bigger than that). Subtle just doesn't show well on 6mm – you need maximum contrast. |

Hadn't considered it. I'll try it out as Bob seems to be spot on! |

Yes, I agree most of the time and wash most of my 6mm with Honey Pine Polyshades. |

I use the same washes (GW, before they changed the names on everything) for both, though on a 6mm figure I typically use only one wash, over the coat, whereas they're more fundamental to my way of painting 28mms. |
