Put together a review of this excellent magazine which I won over at the WWPD.net blog a few weeks ago. This particular issue had a WW2 "Airborne" theme so a lot of the content revolved around paratrooper operations, scenarios, miniatures, various skirmish games etc but it also included a lot of other very interesting articles and well written columns about wargaming topics. Overall I think it is a LOT better than Wargames Illustrated (not even going to bother to compare it to White Dwarf lol ). They have back issues very cheap on their site for anyone interested in buying a sample and check it out for yourself, I would really recommend it. THe magazine was hyped by the WWPD.net crew but it still surpassed my expectations. link

I found this magazine at a local books store about four months ago. I went looking for a copy of WI that I couldn't get since my local gaming store went under. I used to pick up a WI every once in awhile, but most of the articles didn't appeal to me. I like what I've seen so far in this mag and will continue to buy it. For some reason, it just has a different "feel" to it than the British glossies. |

Personally, I'm finding that MW and WI tend to be 'All fur coat and no knickers'. WSS and Battlegames tend to offer me more. |

Yeah, the perspective feels different and somehow "closer to the core" in WSS compared to some of the other magazines like WI. |

I like it too – more wargaming substance and fewer ads (although ads are nice too – but they shouldn't be the bulk of the mag). Dean |

Two things I like about this magazine. Most of the articles are about wargaming and I can buy it at my local barnes & noble. |
