We played a rather large game of Black Powder at the Huzzah convention in Maine (May 4-6). Most of the table
Prussian lines
My two brigades assemble for the attack on the Prussian center
One brigade moves on a Prussian held village
My second brigade marches up to attack the Prussian held hill
Disaster! The brigade in front of the village breaks.
My other brigade gets stuck in
My brigade drives the Prussians off, but can advance no further.
Some other photos from the battlefield:
It was a fun battle, and a terrific time. We had 6-ish people on each side, each running a brigade or two. Can't wait till next year! |

The game was a lot of fun. I huge number of figures. My Prussians fought well to the left of the town, but couldn't stop the elements second French Brigade and the third French Brigade that hit them. Great convention, many entertaining games and fun times with good friends. Thanks to the staff for putting this together and looking forward to next year. |

Chris, I'm glad you had a great time. The Black Powder game was an awesome display and the figures look great. Your table was packed, and that one is almost 20' long! Great shots of the game. I'm still recovering from Huzzah, but highly energized to get going on gaming projects again. You and the gang are a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing you again next year. You landed a couple prizes from the raffles too, right? Mike |

No raffle prizes for me. There's a strangely high ratio of wargamers named Chris in northern New England

Fantastic. Thanks very much for sharing. Black Powder seems to have given big battalions a big push. Well done to the Nottingham lads. |

I enjoyed this game- it was only my second game of Black Powder and the second game was a lot easier for me than the first. I really liked this table as I was effected by both the players on each side, but also by events on their other side. I really felt like I was part of a huge battle. |

@Runcius: It was a "bring and battle" event, so the OOB wasn't perfect. I didn't get pictures of everything, but I do think there were Saxons somewhere. |

@Chris
I have to say those wurttemburgers look really great.Do you know what that lancer regiment is in the front rank of the wurttemburg cavalry ?I also noticed your casualty markers
.I assume the poker chips under the ones with the casualty figures count as the number of hits a unit has taken? I had concidered baseing my markers on a 40x 40 base with a post of some kind to place marker rings on. Runicus |
