Does anyone know the nose art to the 'slick chick' a B-17G. It was in the 551 bomber group. |

Not a B-17G, or 551 Bomber Group either. It's a B-17F-50-DL s/n 42-3343 of the 32nd Bomb Sqn, 301st Bomb Group. link cheers |

There were three "Slick Chicks" at the time. That is not the one. This one came was damaged and crashed when almost back at base. |

Hmmm Assuming the 551 is correct, there was a 551st Bomb Sqn in the 385th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force. You might want to track down a copy of Planes, Names & Dames Vol 1 from Squadron Signal Books USA. It might have what you need. cheers |

After a little more digging I found only a grainy pic of the crash. Tail fin only. NM finish. It was a B-17G-50-BO s/n 42-102431, 551st BS, 385th BG. |
