As a War of the Ring player, are you satisfied with the level of support provided by White Dwarf magazine? * highly satisfied * satisfied * not satisfied * very unhappy * I don't play War of the Ring * I don't read White Dwarf |

Stopped reading it 2 years ago. Was only good for fluff and advertising in the end, for me anyway Doc |

Don't play WotR. Don't read White Dwarf. |

I don't play the game, but I do read White Dwarf. LotR SBG is approximately 1/3 of White Dwarf every month, in keeping with its status as one of the "Big Three" Games Workshop games. It's hard to see how anyone could ask for more. |

Well, technically the topic is "As a War of the Ring player" so SBG content doesn't necessarily count. |

For now WotR seems to be another forgotten system as far as GW is concerned, but I think it will be back when the second part of 'The Hobbit' is released

i think War of the Rings has become a "Specialised Game" now that GW have thrown their LotR efforts back into SBG

We are talking about the GW White Dwarf magazine that hasn't been good for what nearly 12-13 years. So totally unsatisfied because it once was a great magazine. |

No, which is why I stopped getting it. They ran out of content once the films finished, and IMHO they had only limited success in expanding the "fluff" outside of the film rights. I agree that the Hobbit will spark a fresh wave from them, but the rights will probably be extremely limited again. More scope in the other books, but the rights to those are held by Christopher T, and I understand he was not happy with the film usage, so it does not sound like he will be releasing rights any time soon. Shame really, as the war of the jewels would have a potentially wider scope to GW's battle system. |
