Martin Kelly, on his excellent 'Befreiungskreige 1813-14' blog, has mentioned that a friend of a friend overheard someone's sister say at Salute that maybe Warlord Games might be working on some French to follow their Prussian LW and excellent Russian Infantry
Well, what he actually said was: The Warlord Games Russian figures are a step in the right direction and they're now working on French. Can anyone confirm or deny? befreiungskriege.wordpress.com |

Interesting! They have gaiters – although it appears they are the below the knee types that are associated with the 1812 Bardin regulation. I look forward to their release in any case. Thanks for the heads up. Dean |

I think the gaiters might actually make them interesting for the transitional period from the old uniforms to the new ones. |

The two figures at the back of teh shot have gaiters above the knee. But good to see more French infantry – need those. Glad they will not try and make cavalry and artillery in plastic, as there are just too many of those already available :-) |

Below the knee gaiters with the pre-Bardin uniform would make excellent Young Guard for Wagram etc. A very useful lot of figures and ones that I would snap up in a heartbeat as no other plastics manufacturer (*cough*
Victrix
*cough*) has twigged that pre-1812 Young Guard would be a big hit. |

I also understand that some may have cut down their gaiters on campaign. Either way, hope the buttons on the gaiters are pronounced enough for quick dabbing with paint. Best, Dean |

Thanks Von Ewald, those look great! Hard Plastic Frenchies with cords and flounders – let joy be unconfined! Regarding your comments about the Russian facial expressions, maybe the sculpter is the same bloke that designed the Figure 11 Target!

Glad they will not try and make cavalry and artillery in plastic, as there are just too many of those already available :-) Hmm, I'm not sure the market is as yet completely saturated with French Artillery in hard plastic
although I understand its high on Victrix's 'to-do' list

Regarding your comments about the Russian facial expressions I made no comments of any kind in relation to Warlord's offerings on this thread or any other. Your next post in relation to this matter might acknowledge same. |

Certainly
I have never seen anyone capable of pulling some of those facial expressions. The heads ruin what are otherwise nice figures. Warlord need to put down the Commando comics. Was posted by 'Gribby' in the thread to which you kindly linked. My mistake. or any other. I do not have the time or resources to confirm that you have never, at any time, on any thread, commented on the facial expressions of Warlord Games figures. However I am sure that any interested parties might reasonably assume that this is the case. |

Sparker – yup, those plastic artillery sets are coming thick and fast aren't they – that's why it is so refreshing to see some more French infantry :-) Shame really. |

Tob be honest mate I think its all moot – I think all these UK manufacturers use the same manufacturer – Renedra, which, although they are working miracles apparently, do represent a bit of a choke point. So these models are probably some time off

think all these UK manufacturers use the same manufacturer – Renedra Based on other threads on TMP lately, a number of UK model manufacturers – including Renedra – are currently using other toolmakers than Renedra (though the names of the actual toolmakers seem to be some sort of trade secret). |

Bring them on I say! Pity they wont be out in time for me to finish off my Division of 1st Corps before September. Nice looking figures though!! |

Regarding the gaiters that stop just below the knee. Might it just be that the sculptor is waiting for the green stuff to dry on details he has just completed before moving on to the next stage? |
