Scale Specialties is happy to announce the up coming release of 1/300 scale aircraft decals covering the Imperial Japanese Navy's 1st, 2nd and 5th aircraft carrier divisions from December 1941 through June 1942 with the 5th going through October 1942. Each sheet provides the two carriers in the division with over fifty tail code/aircraft numbers for the three mission type planes carried – fighter, dive bomber and horizontal/torpedo bomber (includes command aircraft markings for each type). National markings will complete fourteen Zero fighters and for the Vals, Kates, up to 12 as the modeler chooses.

Prototype work drawings will be found on Scale Specialties web site, ss-sms.com with direct links as:

The decals are in our hot little hands and waiting for the instruction sheets to be completed. Sheet 2 (300AC-JP-002 for the 2nd Carrier Division (Soryu & Hiryu) has been delayed due to a productionn error. The "official" release will take place at the HMGS-PSW convention June 30, 2012 in Manhattan Beach, CA (data on their web site and ours). Release for sheet 2 is now slated for Labor Day weekend at Pacificon gaming convention in Santa Clara, CA.

Those attending Historicon can find all our decals at the I-94 both, see Dave Winfree.

Best wishes,
for Scale Specialties

Sheet 2 has been corrected and has been "officially" released.

I've been asked what's next? Answer: in the Pacific later, U.S. carrier air groups, or the first part.

Best wishes,
