We're just starting an double-blind map exercise to refight the Marne Campaign of 1914. The intelligence briefing for initial deployments is shown below. Order for Turn 1 are due in a week. We're aiming to get a turn done every two weeks.

At the end of Turn 1:

Significant events (from north to south)

The initial German attack on Liege was repulsed with significant loss.

Fighting in Luxemburg, went well for the Germans.

French reserve troops were pushed back in the Vosges.

Fighting near Belfort continues.

At the end of Turn 2 …

Liege falls!

A Belgian counterattach turns into rout, as the Germans storm into the city.

Elsewhere fighting continues in Luxemburg, Lorraine, and Alsace. Rumors of a French defeat in the Lorraine were denied by representatives of GHQ in Paris.
