Do you really understand your own posts and what you write in them? You repeat them enough times. You wrote 'and they certainly wouldn't have considered that the French people had the 'right' to have Napoleon as its leader' That means the Allies were arrogant enough to think they had the right to say who should rule their country and that the people of that country did not matter!

But you seem to be having a very serious problem with accepting that I disagree with your views? I can understand that, your viewpoint is being questioned. But perhaps, since it seems to upset you so much, we should not discuss this matter further.

Gazzola, and you seriously think that you do not have a problem accepting that people disagree with your views?

Good god man, get some insight into yourself!

People are disagreeing with each other. It happens. You should know that.

Anyway, time to move, the subject has well run its course or rather, well diverted from its course.

LOL! People have been disagreeing with me and probably always will do, as I will with them. It happens. That's why this is called a discussion forum. But perhaps you don't come here to debate, just post silly pictures?

And trying to provoke people by getting personal is just clutching at straws on your part and not unexpected. But like I said in the other thread, I think you would do much better sticking to looking for pictures of penguins and sheep, something you seem to be really good at. Although, perhaps you should really be considering advancing to the level of looking for pictures of real sheep.

LOL, you really are an insecure, sensitive little soul aren't you?

You really seem completely unaware of your own behaviours and attacks on people; amazing!

I missed the bit where you apologized for your first misreading.

But moving on to your latest misreading, the only person in the entire world who the Allies specifically said had to not rule France was Napoleon. Why? Because he had invaded all their countries over the last 20 years. This is why they insisted that he, specifically, abdicate – which he then did. When he came back, the war began again. This is rather different from 'were arrogant enough to think they had the right to say who should rule their country and that the people of that country did not matter'.

But you seem to be having a very serious problem with accepting that I disagree with your views?

No, it is you who neither wants to leave it alone nor to engage with the argument.

I can understand that, your viewpoint is being questioned. But perhaps, since it seems to upset you so much, we should not discuss this matter further.

Well it seems clear that the only person upset about their viewpoint being questioned is yourself. But I look forward to your not responding and so making it clear that you don't wish to discuss the matter further. I'll take your retraction of your second misreading as read.

Your posts might become remotely interesting when you can stop taking pictures of penguins and toy sheep and stop insulting people and make a Napoleonic contribution. When that happens, if it ever happens, I might consider your posts worthy of discussion.

Sorry, but your post is so boring and repetitive that it is just not worth responding to. It is also clear that you are totally unable to accept my views, so basically this will be my final post to you on this topic. If you feel you really have to make another post, go for it.

Devastated, simply devastated.

It is also clear that you are totally unable to accept my views, so basically this will be my final post to you on this topic. If you feel you really have to make another post, go for it.

I hope I can count on this promise.

You are right though:'Bonapartist' doesn't strictly mean 'person who idolizes Napoleon and spends their time on toy soldier/military miniature forums using tendentious arguments and the most blatant double standards to try and protect the spotless image they have of their hero', but I thought 'Bonapartist' was close enough. And since everyone knows exactly who I am on about, it was probably a fair enough shout. But I'm open to suggestions for a different word?

Well, at the time British caricaturists like to represent Napoleon as 'Puss in boots'; so could we call the ultra Napoleonist apologists on here 'Pussies'?

Not sure what we should call those who believe Napoleon was the seventh son of Satan though….

And? Re-read the quote I applauded. It has nothing to do with the right to disagree.

XV Brigada20 Apr 2012 1:57 a.m. PST

@CJA,

On the contrary, I would say that Gazzola/John Walsh is completely aware of his behaviour. He has exhibited it on numerous occasions here and elsewhere, over several years.

He been told by his interlocutors on numerous occasions that it is not acceptable.

It is deliberate in my view and that is why I have him on permanent stifle and suggest that others who find him unacceptably bad mannered and confrontational do the same.

Gazzola20 Apr 2012 3:30 a.m. PST

Sparker

You naughty boy you, I almost stifled you then. Lucky I'm not an apologist.

Gazzola20 Apr 2012 3:37 a.m. PST

XV Brigada

XV Brigada/William Hickey, has just admitted he can't cope with people who confront him. Unbelievable! Perhaps he does not realise this is a discussion board where people confront each other in almost every post.

Spreewaldgurken20 Apr 2012 5:04 a.m. PST

My favorite is the 500+ post thread in which Gazzola spends half of it insulting people and telling them not to insult people, and then telling everybody to "drop it" and "move on" each time he obsessively returns for more.

von Winterfeldt20 Apr 2012 7:58 a.m. PST

@collinjalen
I support the view of XV Brigada above, otherwise you are just sucked into a mindless and time consuming flame war and are provoked to react so that you are dawghoused.
A shame that you have to cool your heels for 31 days, I will miss your witty remarks.
