Hi guys, here are the paintups of some models I'll be releasing very soon. First we have two sets of Armed Men in Parkas. One set has basic long firearms, shown below.
The second set has three models, a leader, a man with a military automatic weapon (SAW) and of course, the iconic man with a flamethrower.
Adam made these with a small sci fi type weapon, but I wanted people to be able to use them plausibly in a current earth setting too. He made modifications to the weapons to bring them back closer to the appearance of current, or at least fairly recent, long firearms. Then we have the first of two sets of rednecks, this one being the main set, the Redneck Welcoming Committee, heavily armed rednecks, if that's not too redundant.
There's another set too called The Flight of the Earls which has rednecks running away, one is named Earl and has a six pack in his hand, the other is named Earl and has a barbecue fork, and the third is named Tiffani Earline, and she is pregnant in a tube top and carrying a bottle of Jim Beam. They are fleeing from the deerhunters -- more on that later. I think these will be useful in all sorts of modern, sci fi, and post-apoc scenarios. I was going to release these today but I thought I'd be defenestrated if I did! |

Somewhere in Antartcia, these figures are needed! Also need one who is tranforming into a Thing!! Great stuff! |
J Womack 94 | 13 Apr 2012 6:50 a.m. PST |
Oh, those rednecks are perfect for It Came From Behind the Still! And the parkas would be great for a game about "The Thing". |
J Womack 94 | 13 Apr 2012 6:51 a.m. PST |
You do need a fat redneck running away named Randy. |
badger22 | 13 Apr 2012 6:56 a.m. PST |
I need the redneck sets. I can paint them up and present them to the rest of the family for christmas gifts. They will be amazed that I got someone to make models of them Owen |

The parka guys remind me of a tv movie, late 70's early 80's, where Russians invade Alaska and try and take over the pipeline and are fought off by the Alaskan NG. |
sharkbait | 13 Apr 2012 7:49 a.m. PST |
@JammerMan – I do remember that movie, but can't recall the name of it. Anyway, both the parka dudes and the rednecks look really good! I don't have much use for the parka dudes, but the rednecks could certainly be used for some zombie gaming! |
(I make fun of others) | 13 Apr 2012 7:56 a.m. PST |
I think people in parkas could be quite useful for post-apoc gaming as well, as the extreme environments might be where civilised people flee to escape the madness of civilisation's fall

Love those guys in parkas. When I was a kid, I saw a TV movie about a nuclear war between the US and the Soviets. A lot of the details escape me now, but it started with the Soviets inserting a Spetznaz unit into Alaska to (I think) blow up an oil pipeline, but they got into a big battle with a National Guard unit made up of Inuits. I thought it was a pretty cool movie at the time, and those parka-clad troops would be perfect for that. |
(I make fun of others) | 13 Apr 2012 8:14 a.m. PST |
You know, these remind me of a movie in Alaska with soviets fighting American national guard. |

You know, these remind me of a movie in Alaska with soviets fighting American national guard. It was a mini-series called "World War III". Google and IMDB are your friends: imdb.com/title/tt0084919 Tim |

Erm, someone didn't get it. |

Oh, I got it. But since two other people had mentioned it I just grapped your quote as it was the nearest one. Tim |

I'm thinking somewhere in that rednecks pack there's a perfect mini for Ellis from L4D2. :) Awesome stuff! |

The Thing? That's a given: TMP link But, don't forget Ice Station Zebra too! Dan PS. I would need to paint up the rednecks quick, the moment I get them: TMP link |

Truth is the parka men are not really suitable as soldiers as they don't have assault rifles. Perhaps a forthcoming set? |
Sloppypainter | 13 Apr 2012 10:55 a.m. PST |
Oh no. We won't toss you out a window
we need you for our miniature fix each month! How about riflethings and rebels fighting in the snow? |
Given up for good | 13 Apr 2012 11:38 a.m. PST |
Looks like some more bits will be heading to eBay to fund these! Both are great sets. |
Kev1340 | 13 Apr 2012 11:43 a.m. PST |
Those rednecks will certainly be very useful! Cheers, Kev |
BlackWidowPilot | 13 Apr 2012 1:25 p.m. PST |
OK, if they're dressed for Adak, Alaska, where's the *snow* on their bases? Outstanding figures as always, Jon. Both sets IMHO would be very cool as civvie militia for colonies out in the Far and Away

Terry is a great painter but he puts everyone on grass and dirt unless you specify otherwise. Notice that the scientists' lab floor is a bit overgrown as well. Where's that cleaning lady been? |
Cacique Caribe | 13 Apr 2012 2:59 p.m. PST |
Jon, These lab guys? TMP link Well I give them kudos for making it out of the lab alive, even the one down made it out. Dan |
J Womack 94 | 13 Apr 2012 3:59 p.m. PST |
Simple answer to the dirt/grass issue. For the parka clad – it is summer. Still cold. Just no snow. For the scientists – they are botanists doing field work. But no one takes you seriously unless you wear your lab coat. So they wore the lab coats outdoors. |
Wolfprophet | 13 Apr 2012 4:48 p.m. PST |
Do not care for the Parka guys personally. No snow terrain for me. Do like the rednecks though. The 2nd one reminds me of a neighbor down the street. Complete . No regard for anyone's safety when he's speeding up and down the road. They'd be great with those zombie survivors who just got released. |
khurasanminiatures | 13 Apr 2012 6:45 p.m. PST |
You can terrain the bases any way you like actually. |
brass1 | 13 Apr 2012 7:46 p.m. PST |
I can drive about five miles and find people who make those rednecks look like the Rhodes scholarship selection committee so no, won't be ordering any – too close to Real Life (tm). The parka guys, on the other hand, are wildly cool and I have a sneaking suspicion I wan

The parka fellows will go well with this vehicle, which always reminds me of a Snowcat.
How do they match up with the Scanfed figures? |
79thPA | 15 Apr 2012 7:23 p.m. PST |
^^^What is that vehicle and who makes it? |
John Bear Ross | 16 Apr 2012 8:40 p.m. PST |
Khurasan Minis makes it. It's called the Rockjumper, a civilian utility tread-truck. About half way down this page
link Product code is
TTC-1404. Light Crawler with Pickup Bed and Optional Improvised Armoured Bed Best, JBR |
khurasanminiatures | 16 Apr 2012 8:54 p.m. PST |
And actually the rockjumper has got even better! The treads are now white metal without the fill between the wheels, which makes the truck look way better, the casting is much cleaner, and it comes with a white metal pickup body reinforcement! |
Kev1340 | 16 Apr 2012 11:36 p.m. PST |
Sounds like now is the time to pick one up! I've been meaning too for a while. Cheers, Kev |

When can we buy the red necks, Need a full set in a hurry for a convention. Lee |

I also want to know when. Dan |
Lion in the Stars | 02 May 2012 7:54 p.m. PST |
Ooooh, if the Rockjumper now has metal tracks, does that mean we could lean on you to make a set of super-wide snow tracks? |
daddyslittlemen | 02 May 2012 9:16 p.m. PST |
Hmmm, I might have to mix these Rednecks in against my 1980's U.S. Marines for an "Allegheny Uprising" style Twilight 2000 game. |
