well doing a few things but next in the Que is grav engines for the 8 wheel APC and a recovery type vehicle with a tow arm instead of gun -- still working on arm. The grave engines will be a part you can order by itself as well 4 for 1.50
Also have a new grizzly variant that is less of a grav vehicle and more of a shuttle as well as a wreck marker
Price is 9.00 each and if you buy 3 grimly shuttles you get the wreck marker free Wrecked Grizzly is 7.00 on its own I will be getting these to Scotty so he can start casting asap -- The engines by them selves make great little drones -- 2 for 1.50

They also look like they'd make fantastic jump jets to slap on a mech. I really like the Grizzly. I haven't ordered anything from Scotty in a bit, but it might be time again. |

This is a little bit of awesome. I have often sketched and theorized about a set of conversion bits for simple changes from wheels and tracked vehicles to hover and grav. This takes that into practice. Those engines would look awesome glued to the side of a deoderant container with a few more bits. -Eli |
Farstar | 11 Apr 2012 11:25 a.m. PST |
Lithobraking at its best. |
Goober | 11 Apr 2012 11:43 a.m. PST |
Those bits look great for conversions – I can see a few "deodorant tanks" projects with them! |

Handy stuff. Like the look of that grav/thruster conversion. |

What are the sizes on those engine-pods? Even if not used in purely kit-bashing, they might also work as 6mm dropship/pods if big enough

I'm in for a grizzly and 8 of the engines for a conversion I want to do on a Kamov heli, so massive thumbs up from me, when are these going to be available? Cheers, love those engines |
AVAMANGO | 11 Apr 2012 2:21 p.m. PST |
Individual GEV thrusters = kitbashers heaven. |
Eli Arndt | 11 Apr 2012 2:23 p.m. PST |
Johny Boy, I have been eyeballing a Kamov for conversion for a while and thought the same thing. -Eli |
John Treadaway | 11 Apr 2012 2:30 p.m. PST |
That's a good point on conversions. I did some 100th prepaints with a wash choppers a while back to use as scenery/objectives for Slammers games. They'dbe much betters SF'd up ! (ie without the rotors)

They also look like they'd make fantastic jump jets to slap on a mech. I see twin heavy cannons
I see other people's nice, shiny AFVs going up in smoke! Mwahahahaaaa!!! John T,
ditch the rotors and replace them with a remote control gun turret for starters. For example:
Then add those spiffy MP/CW jump engines. Bob's yer uncle, Charlie's yer auntie.

I love the shuttles, that's just what I need! Three of them! and the marker! |
LordNth | 11 Apr 2012 2:41 p.m. PST |
Would have been even better a few weeks back before I started a Merka 5 Grav conversion project. Good to know these are around for kitbashing >:) |
Johny Boy | 11 Apr 2012 9:51 p.m. PST |
Cheers John, I was thinking about possibly using these as the donor kit for a dropship idea for my Neo Sov security forces.
The above gives an impression of it without rotors, add the wombat engines and a door gunner and I'm hoping you have a squad dropship for my Neo Sov Internal security forces. Cheers Jon |
Goober | 12 Apr 2012 2:08 a.m. PST |
That's a really great idea, Johny Boy. Do you know of a kit in 1/100 for 15mm? G. |
skinkmasterreturns | 12 Apr 2012 2:36 a.m. PST |
You could leave those rotors off and stick those seperate engines from the Grizzly (as shown above) on the sides. |
OctaChaz | 12 Apr 2012 7:58 a.m. PST |
Johny Boy, what helicopter is that? It looks pretty cool. |
Eli Arndt | 12 Apr 2012 8:44 a.m. PST |
Johny Boy - That Ka-29 is the same helo I was considering when I did these quicky edits of line drawings –
I was looking at using 1/72 models which would need some rescaling to work with 15mm, but would make for a good-sized dropship. -Eli |
John Treadaway | 12 Apr 2012 9:37 a.m. PST |
Some real good ideas on this thread and some good product from the Wombat. Well done all round chaps. Just the sort of thing that forums like this one are good for (he says having had his fill, somewhat, of the 'tear him a new @*&% hole and make snide comments' approach of some threadsd on here of late) Thumbs up John T |
Cergorach | 12 Apr 2012 9:57 a.m. PST |
To be quite honest I don't like the APC, I love the Stoat though, it's just that the APC looks a little 'lumpy' and out of place with the sleak designs of the rest of the line. The shuttle is a little better, but also not my favorite. The grav engines on the other hand are excellent, I wish there was a different APC on that chassis

Eli Arndt | 12 Apr 2012 9:59 a.m. PST |
John, This is the stuff I like to see and I know the threads of which you speak. My biggest issue is rescaling it properly which would include new windows, ramps/doors and the placement of engins in a manner that would make sense. -Eli |
Johny Boy | 12 Apr 2012 10:21 a.m. PST |
Octachaz it's a Kamov Ka 29, russian naval heli, quite a few kits of it ion 1/72, the nicest being the Hobby Boss version although there are a few Airfix knocking about. Emu2020 that's one awesome looking design, very much what I had in mind, I think your idea for the revised cockpit area looks great, just rying to figure what you could use for the starting point for it, Front end of a lancaster? Cheers for the input

Think it would match up really well as a transport dropship, alongside the Khurasan Doe gunship
I'll be using the Doe as transport support for my Neo Sov forces, with the Kamov ferrying NKVD internal security squads and Mech SWAT teams. I'm working on Gruntz forces for a future wars scenario in Kazachstan. |

I know what you mean, i'm just tipping my toe in 15mm sci fi and it's addictive, I have Crusties with African Clan Militia allies, think District 9 meets Blackhawk Down, currently on the go, reinforcements arriving hopefully with Salute. The Russians and Kazak Liberation Army hopefully coming along after that |

Amazing sculpt by Khurasan minis. link Character wise see her very much in the line of Admiral Helena Cain from BSG Razor – hard as nails and ruthless.

Know it's 28mm, but has anyone looked at the up-coming Helicopters from the Dust Tactics/Warfare S.S.U. range being release shortly – there's and Attack Copter that would do very nicely thank you, and a transpoet and heavy lift (it carries a Mecha suit – which comes with it) version. Appear to retail at under £25.00 GBP each, so might be a bit expensive. |
