This is one of the latest editions to the Mid-west's finest Pirate game recently ran at Recruits. I was very lucky to work with a few new companies to get some of their products out on the table before Official public release. This beastly beauty charmed its way on to the table leaving flotsam and jetsam every where it went.
The Kraken can be purchased from Rob Watson of Immortal Realms.
Rob uses two mediums to cast, a close celled foam akin to Nerf (tm) and a clear resin that makes the water splash at the base look incredible. Check out his site at: link

Thanks Rob for all the hard work you did to get the Kraken in my game.

That's super cool! If they are made with flexible foam, it should be easy to push a piece of wire down the length of the tentacle so you could bend and pose it.

What scale is the ship?

pphalen03 Apr 2012 11:36 a.m. PST

Gonna need a bigger boat!!!

abdul666lw03 Apr 2012 11:41 a.m. PST

Simply amazing!

The Elk Hunt is the 28mm Brig by Old Glory.

He makes them to order both Resin and Foam. The largest tentacle is over a foot tall.

I don't know what I like better, the ship or the critter eating it…evil grin

The tentacles (arms, really (shut up, pedant!) sorry, sheesh…) look great, but BOY HOWDY is that a neat ship!

dmebust03 Apr 2012 12:38 p.m. PST

Yup a bit spendy but definatly cool!

darthfozzywig03 Apr 2012 12:42 p.m. PST

Very cool!

And the brig is nice as well. I have a couple of OG 28mm ships and really like 'em.

EricThe Shed03 Apr 2012 1:21 p.m. PST

just beautiful…..

Kevin in Albuquerque03 Apr 2012 1:57 p.m. PST

Oh my, I just had a day dream about the reaction I would get from the local … difficult … gamers. The pedants would just GOBBLE!!! I don't care what size they are … must have more donuts !!!

Highlander04203 Apr 2012 4:05 p.m. PST

The tentacles are cast from either solid resin or Foam. They are designed for 28mm and range from 4" – 14" in height. They are quite large and very durable.

Watchtower7803 Apr 2012 6:35 p.m. PST

So about 150 for the set of tentacles without the head?

Whatisitgood4atwork03 Apr 2012 7:07 p.m. PST

Ohhhhh… nice. I don't do naval but I may have to get one for my SF gaming anyway. It can be … um … a terrain piece, or something.

wingnut03 Apr 2012 9:32 p.m. PST

It would be a really nice Sand dwelling monster for some far-away desert planet.

Early morning writer03 Apr 2012 10:43 p.m. PST

Wingnut, you cad! Here it is Tuesday already and you've yet to post a full blown report of your game! You slacker. : )

Looking forward to more about the expanded event.

Watchtower78 – Ya that's about right.. More depends on which tentacles you want.. mostly large or a mix. Currently there are 8 different tentacles… I have still to post the water bases.. Been waiting to finish the new ones..

Fatback Willis05 Apr 2012 6:34 p.m. PST

I had a great time playing with these tentacles as wingnut and I got ready for the con and they paint up beautifully – Great work Highlander042

ARMY Strong09 Apr 2012 2:17 p.m. PST

Nice but prices are out the roof!

Highlander04211 Apr 2012 12:40 p.m. PST

People spend $10 USD – $15 USD for a 28mm miniature an inch tall all the time. How is $16 USD for a resin one that's hand crafted and 12 inches tall out the roof? Just wondering. :)
