Well? How many? I would guess at least six, but they will argue about size, wattage, shape, color and everything else they can think of for hours before actually getting around to it. |

Don't tell me how to change a light bulb! I prefer remaining in the dark as it is more fun. People who use light bulbs just want to force their views on everyone else. And if I have a product list of different light bulbs then I can use a 100w bulb in a 15w socket if I want. Who cares about the proper use of a light bulb? :) |
John the OFM | 29 Mar 2012 5:37 p.m. PST |
Well, I will be looking out for apostrophe abuse, for one. Then, we need someone to make sure that no one puts a plywood globe on a Russian shell and tries to claim it's German. |
John the OFM | 29 Mar 2012 5:38 p.m. PST |
I prefer remaining in the dark as it is more fun. Yeah, I'm a "curse the darkness" kind of guy too, rather than a "light a candle" guy. |

Hey, this TMPer's ready for anything!:
|
Ambush Alley Games | 29 Mar 2012 6:29 p.m. PST |
I liked light bulbs better back in the 70s. They had a lot more instructions on the box back then and none of these fancy color photographs, either. Also, they cost a lot less back then! - Shawn. |
Wolfprophet | 29 Mar 2012 6:34 p.m. PST |
Depends. What sort of lightbulb? What's the range on it? Does it have a decent darkness penetration rating? What's its point value vs usefulness in the house vs monetary cost? How many lamps and light fixtures can I field in my 1500 point house list? What's the armour value of the lamp we're putting the lightbulb in? For that matter! What's the lighting arc?! Putting a good lightbulb in a poorly armoured lamp with a bad lighting arc is just a waste of a powerful lightbulb afterall! Fo'hr th'ats mat'ter, ho'w ma'ny apos'trophe a'buses and mispesslings d'oes itt ta'ke t'o put John inn' a'coma? :) |

First, we have to have a board on lightbulbs, then we have to qualify which wattage to use, then we have to debate the proper way to screw it in

The Old Lightbulb was better! I got it for only $0.79 USD, back in 1991, and it still works fine! These fancy-schmancy new lightbulbs are ridiculous! They just make them brighter so they can charge you more money! |

I WILL NOT REBASE FOR NEW LIGHTBULBS!! |
Spreewaldgurken | 29 Mar 2012 7:06 p.m. PST |
It's not a lightbulb. It's a Solar Illumination Simulation. I have always been deeply frustrated that people don't define it correctly, and here are some quotes from obscure authors that prove that I have apparently read their books

I want to complain about the service from THE GLORY OF LIGHTBULB company! I ordered the new lightbulb 20 minutes ago and it still hasn't arrived. I didn't bother contacting them; I just thought I'd complain here first. |
Spreewaldgurken | 29 Mar 2012 7:07 p.m. PST |
We use the new lightbulb but we screw it in sideways instead of vertically, because we think that's more historically accurate. |
Gokiburi | 29 Mar 2012 7:11 p.m. PST |
I prefer remaining in the dark as it is more fun. I'm usually inclined to agree with you, but when I'm spending some quality time supplicating myself before an unspeakable abomination from beyond space, I like to leave at least a dim light on so that I can better serve it. Sure, that can increase the SAN loss, but I think it's worth it to be able to look it in its eye(s) and tell it how much I worship it. This all probably sounds a bit sentimental, but I guess I'm just old fashioned about how I revere my monstrous space gods. |
darthfozzywig | 29 Mar 2012 7:11 p.m. PST |
Can anyone tell me how I can mold lightbulbs on my own? I'm not paying the Evil (G)Empire an arm and a leg for theirs: THEY BURN OUT AND NEED REPLACING! And look at the Codex Escalation. They started at 25W, now they're 100W and have made my old ones obsolete. |
Flat Beer and Cold Pizza | 29 Mar 2012 7:14 p.m. PST |

Can I use candles to substituite for light bulbs? What vallejo colour can I use for myt lightbulbs? Is it immoral to use Nazi light bulbs? Are light bulbs the new napoleonics? What scale should I use for my lightbulb forces? Who had the best lightbulbs – Monty or Patton? John ('''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''') and they just cant ge't ou't. They are mine, mine, mine, MINE! |

Seven. One to change the bulb, six to argue about the way it was done. 3 will say it was unrealistic and too simple, while the other 3 will maintain it was overly complex and unecessary rivet-counting. |

is the enthusiasm for a competition for lightbulb changing? I suggest there must be three categories – screw, bayonet, and those fiddly little ones that you are not supposed to tough with your fingers. |

How many turns are on the base of that light bulb? Our club will only allow three turn bulbs. I have seen some clowns try to pass off 4 turn or even 2 turn bulbs. To me they just don't look right and they certainly aren't historically accurate. |

It depends
If the spelling and grammar is correct on the bulb itself!

Throw 1d6 for each lightbulb to be changed. Lightbulb is sucessfully changed on 4+ Modifiers: -4 High Celiling +3 Step ladder (if high ceiling) +1 Upturned bucket (plus critical miss if a natural 1 is rolled as your foot goes through the bucket) -2 changing in the dark -1 if previous lightulb has just blown and is still hot +1 for screw fit -2 fiddly ones you aren't suposed to touch +1 corded socket -1 if Russian infantry after 1942 +1 if Warseer within 12" and Scroll of Illuminatus Changartis is active G.

Yes! First on Page 2 Seriously, though, it takes 6. 2 to change the lightbulb, 1 to propose a new board, 1 to complain the bulb is the wrong wattage. 1 to complain that the concept of light is religious in nature and the ones proposing the bulb be changed should be DH'ed, and 1 to stifle the rest. |
